If you've got all day
The round was 5+ hours - terrible for a Sunday tee time of 8:24.
The Marshall was great but did nothing to move play along - Members had the first tee times and obviously took advantage of the fact.
This is a tough course so I understand some delay but 5 hours is a bit much.
Needs better maintaining
Course was in pretty rough shape, expected more for the price. I guess it's all about how many rounds they can push through.
Back again
I returned to the "LEGENDS "course yesterday after a two year hiatus. Booked my time thru a discount service and received a great welcome in the pro shop.
The staff is super friendly from the greeter when you drop off your bag to the proshop to the bar/restaurant staff.
The course is challenging, I found a lot of ball marks on the greens . I found no issue with the sand in the bunkers and boy did I find a lot yesterday. Though we played ready golf it took us 4 1/2 hrs.
The key to this course is to pick the tees that are right for your ability
Lionhead Legends
Very challenging course. Plays long and tight fairways. Not for beginners. Great for intermediate and advanced golfers.
course not n very good shape
Have played at this course before and enjoyed it, but this time I found the course in a very poor condition.
Greens were not well maintained and there was sand and grass over several of the greens, as if they had not been swept or cleaned.
Several of the holes had the markers in the wrong places. The blues were ahead of the whites. and the maintenance and noise were not conducive to play.
After My round when I complained about the conditions at the pro shop I was told that this was the first time that someone had complained, but there was no apology and not even an explanation that maybe the staff were doing some maintenance work on the course.
Overall the experience was not great and will not go back. For the same price there are other courses offering a better value.
Slow Play
Twenty five minutes late teeing off. Very slow group in front of us that were at least a hole behind the group in front of them. Managed to eventually play through but caught up again. Seemed like the course was over booked. Marshals didn't seem too concerned at the slow play.
Would never pay full price to play the course. Course is in good shape and very challenging. Staff at clubhouse were very good.
Lionhead Legends
In my opinion not worth the regular price rates. Not because of faculty, facility or conditions but rather the course design. There are some great holes but then there are holes that look like an afterthought (par 3 13th), or that provide no poroper visuals to the green. All in all it is a well maintained course that has a good feel that I enjoy playing.
Lion Head's facility is Top Shelf
Played the Legends course... Great day on a superior golf course and faculty. They have packaged the experience of golf in a new way., Great staff, super course and great restaurant in Ziggy's .
A must course and food to try!
Too slow!!!!!
The people who work there are friendly. Have been playing this course since inception. Great facility but pace of play is awful !!!! Over 5 and a half to play.
This is the problem with golf. Too long to play. I belong to a private club iand the average time to play is under four hours
Terrible pace of play, no marshals starting people on 10th tees and 1st out of sync to try and milk profits and then causing a jam
6+ hours round of golf and starting people on both sets of tees 1st and 10th with no marshals on course. Starter sits at clubhouse far away from tees. Starter looked as if he was still in high school. Has no clue. Then after playing back nine and returning to 1st teebox there was around 10-12 carts all stacked up waiting, no marshal there and everyone annoyed as all folks were blocked for 45 mins. Absolutely ridiculous, since the renovation of this clubhouse and it's catering and pro shop there seems to be a complete Mis-management of personnel. Even after golf when you sit on the patio you end up sitting there waiting for ages for one of the servers to come out of the indoor bar area to serve you. Terrible management of resources. Such a shame as it's a reasonable looking place. To Mr Kaneff: Get a new manager of catering and Head of Golf. Don't hire teeneagers just out of diapers as starters, they're clueless. Hire wait staff that actually care more about customers needs than their appearance.
Great course, good value
Challenging course narrow greens good conditions except some bunkers could use more sand
Very friendly Marshall good tips
Good overall experience
Great time but expensive too. After paying $100 a person it still $10 a bucket for the range. Course is in above average condition and pace of play wasn't terrible.
Enjoyable round
I played Legends - Greens were very true, staff were very friendly helpful. The changing facilities are very nice. The course is challenging - you play according to your level and playing smart keeps your score down. I would play this course again.
Not so good experience
Pace of play horrendous. No Marshall out there. guys hitting multiple balls not playin ready golf good $ value for the course. Greens in poor condition.
Wont go back
Fantastic
Top quality course. Very challenging but enjoyable.
Really good course, but one negative employee
I had a really great time playing the LionHead Legends course. It was a hard course for me as I am no pro. I go out and enjoy the game.
I just have one negative about the course. There is one employee there just real negative person. But the other employee took very good care of me before the situation got out of hand.
You can't live in a perfect world, so you move on. Thanks Lion Head Golf Course.
Great value
Course was in great shape.. Practice range.. putting excellent.
Lot of promotions and friendly staff
Signage, bunkers, marshals
Course layout is great. Greens roll true but a bit slow. There are challenging and tight par 5s and 4s with forced layups - no drivers or woods off the tees. Good placement of bunkers .... But the bunkers are horrible!
For a premier kaneff course, the bunkers are not "up to par" for even the discounted $80-$90 fee, never mind the $150+. They are not raked daily so you have hard pan sand lies from wet sand that's dried. It definitely takes away from the beauty and play of the course.
What was very strange was the lack of proper signage to direct players around. What was also very strange was the lack of course marshals. We did not see one patrolling for our entire round. The cart girls were extremely frequent, but no marshal was seen to help with pace of play or player help/information.
Good course, but it's not a premier course of Toronto and definitely not worth anything over $90. If you pay over $100, you will be extremely disappointed.
Excellent Value
The Legends course is beautifully designed and very well maintained. It's challenging yet still playable. We golfed very early and had the course to ourselves pretty much. Greens roll nicely and are in good shape. Bunkers were a bit hard due to the rain. Playing this course for under $100 is the best value around. I already booked my next round!
Nice Course
Course was great. Just needed to maintain the bunkers. They were in awful condition. They were hard, not well raked and sand was falling from the lips into the middle.
