Nice layout and some fun holes, a cement water canal follows you for the first 5-6 holes that requires some shot management. Greens were in nice shape and the fairways were very playable. Pace of play was ok on the front 9 but when we made the turn somehow a group of 5 had slipped in about 2 groups in front of us. By the 12th tee-box the backup was ridiculous, minimum 5+ min wait on every shot. At one point the group stopped at someone's house to refill their beverages and our group was able to go through. Once we passed them we played the last 5 holes without anyone in front of us.
Fun course
Pleasantly surprised by the course. Never played here before and found a good deal. Course was fun to play and in good shape. Definitely will play again.
river plantation
lots of winding water way's on the course that are well hidden.
Too slow
We skipped two holes and then finally gave up after waiting 15 minutes on the three remaining holes for a group of 6 guys and a dog, to tee off. Our golf cart also was breaking down the first two holes and had to get another one by hole 3. The new cart was brought out pretty quickly though.
Not very friendly
Billy was not friendly at all. Billy was the clubhouse manager when me and my friend arrived. The Tee time was for 7:30 but due to frost we were told it would most likely be around 9 that we would get to Tee off. The news was not what was disappointing it was the way it was told to us. Billy gave the attitude that he did not want us there and we were an inconvenience to him. After all this is said and done, we were not offered anything for our time. I would have been happy with a free bucket of balls for our hour and a half wait.
The golf cart we got, did not start immediately upon pressing the pedal, instead we would have to sit and press the pedal for 10 seconds each time to move forward.
Dangerous road crossings with no cross walks. Just bad.
Augusta-Charleston
Pro shop personnel extremely helpful. Honored our special discount even though unknown to us it had expired. Course only received fair conditioning de to water from rain made it a little slight and sand bunkers needed some attention. Greens in very good shape for dormant grass. Wonderful pace of play.
nice course
the course was in decent shape for this time of year.
E GAD
THE CHARLESTON COURSE WAS A DISASTER,FAIRWAYS HAD HOLES DEEP ENOUGH TO RUIN A CART IF HIT WITH ANY SPEED,ROUGHS WERE TOTALLY PASTURE LIKE ,AND GOFER HOLES EVERYWHERE. UNBELIEVABLE ,GREENS HAD ALMOST NO GRASS ON SOME OF THEM.I HAVE PLAYED RIVER PLANTATION 3 TIMES IN TOTAL , BUT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME ON THE CHARLESTON,AND I PROMISE IF I EVER GO BACK THERE THEY WILL HAVE TO MAKE SURE I AM ON THE OTHER NINES ,WHICH I ENJOY VERY MUCH

Good Course
Great course, Bad weather. Will go back. It was a fun time in the rain
Excellent Course Overpriced Tasteless Food
I always have a good time when I play this course. It's degree of difficulty depends on which combo of nine's played as well as the tees from which you play. Expensive course on all accounts, unless you find a deal. Most unappealing is the food; the burgers are dry, cardboard like ($12). Hot dogs are good but at $6, you might as well bring your own snack. Otherwise, enjoy the course. It's also good for walking as the tees are placed right next to the greens.
Overview of the course
The course was a good shape considering it was cart path only. The greens were running good and good speed.
beautiful weather Course over watered
Good deal from golf now but course was in transition on the greens and tee box overseeding. A little extra water run off around greens and tee boxes. some bunkers needed raking.
Course has fair value for the money
We waited well after out tee time and.our name was never called. Finally went back into the clubhouse and asked where we were on the list to tee off. Clubhouse said they quit calling names. Got behind a threesome who wouldn't let us play through. Over 5 hours to complete. There was group of 6 that were in front of the threesome and they were at least three holes in front by the end of 9 holes. Never saw a marshal.
River Planatation
Great course for the money. The course was in great shape.
River Plantation
Awesome, great burgers toogreat conditions, very scenic course with nice water features, fairways in good condition and greens well kept. Nice trees and landscaping features.
Perfect Sunday
Perfect weather and perfect course condition combined to make my less than perfect game perfectly enjoyable. We played Charleston and Augusta and both were challenging. The greens were fast and true and even though we followed the Men's club championship, they were in great shape.
River Plantation a nice revisit
The course is in great shape from fairways to greens. Plenty of variety in holes. Don't pass on this course you will like it. A lot of subtle elevation changes on the course will keep you guessing on club selection.
ive lived in riverplantation for 10 years and ever since the new management team came in they are all rude including the the pro and management we need tracy back as our head pro best guy for the job
