Slow Play on Quail Course. Ranger needed!
I like the course but waiting kills rhythm. Other than slowness of play, the course is terrific.
27 Holes of Enjoyment
The course is in immaculate shape and is a enjoyable challenge. After 18 holes at lightning pace, 2 of our foursome had to check out the last 9 holes of the Quail course. $15 bucks later and another quick turn left us saying wow. Great course, great deal!!!
Hidden Gem
I've played every public and semi-course in Tucson/Green Valley, or so I thought. This course is a GREAT course. Fairways, roughs, and greens were all in good shape.
2 minor course issues- most tee boxes weren't level, and I've never ever seen FAKE hole covers on the greens. Since it was a friendly round I moved my ball to avoid putting over an astroturf previously cut hole.
I'd play again in a heartbeat. I just wish they had more availability on GOLFNOW.com
Didn't see a beverage cart either for 18 holes.
Fun course nice variety.
Quail Creek has three nines with the Roadrunner 9 being the newest. All three are interesting and fun to play. The greens and fairways are well maintained but I personally find the roughs to be cut too short. Not sure if this is due to winter conditions in the desert but if you get off the fairway you are playing pretty much from hardpan. I enjoy the course and intend on playing it again.
Course in great shape, however, needed a food cart
course in great shape, however, need a food cart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautifully maintained
Always enjoy the variety of holes, challenging fast but fair greens.
Rivals Tubac for condition of greens, aprons, fairways and t boxes.
Stay away from Roadrunner if possible
Roadrunner continues to have hard, fast and bumpy greens that are painted green. Quail and Coyote are the preferred nines but it seems as though Golfnow customers always get stuck on Rooadrunner for one of the nines. Members must not care for it much either?
This course is nice to play
The front nine was the newer of the two nines and the greens were a little bumpy but nice. The back nine was the original nine and was in nice shape. Very playable.
Roadrunner course needs work on greens.
Quail Creek is a top notch golf facility, would play anytime.
Lightning fast greens
There is an attractive restaurant with great food but don't be in a hurry -- it takes a while for the food to arrive at the table. No other restaurants are nearby. If you want to eat either before or after your round, call beforehand to learn the restaurant hours for that day since it may not be open as early or as late as you might suppose.
Great course, great people = great afternoon of golf!
I played the Roadrunner 9 and the Quail 9. Roadrunner is very open and very challenging - no flat spaces. Green are all new. Quail is very different with tree-lined fairways with a couple of holes on lakes to add to the challenge. Both are perfectly manicured. This particular day was very windy, so the greens were very fast and fairways even harder to stay on - made for a challenging afternoon. Also have beautiful views of the Santa Rita Mtns throughout the course.
Well maintained
A target friendly course. Super fast greens that my shot wasnt that my shot wasn't able to hold a few times.
Love the course.
Was cold and windy so was miserable most the time-but-the course was great. T'was our first time there. We'll be back when the weather is better even if we have to pay full price. We played roadrunner and Quail. The senior tees we played has a slope rating of 124 which is about right. Practice your sand bunker shots before playing!!
course has great design.
Great course. Played Quail and Coyote. Very challenging.
Price was right on Golfnow.com.
For the money it was a good deal
We had no delays with our foursome. The greens were great and the fairways were in good condition. On the Coyote 9 we had at least 3 coyotes cross the fairways we enjoyed this. Overall it was a great deal.
Course for all ability levels
The Quail/Coyote combination is well maintained and the greens are fast but very playable for the average golfer. The variety of Tee box locations made the course enjoyable for all in our foursome given the differences in skill level.
The course has many amenities
The course was in great condition. Start out on the driving range to get warmed up. It has a restuarant for before or after round meal. Pace of play was moving well with staff making visits to the course. Great day of golf.
Not too long, and well designed.
Since I live in Quail Creek, I may be biased, but I will tell it like it is. I am impressed with some of the new staff, like Joel, the new head pro. The changes in the pro shop regarding staff are definately an improvement. Previously, the staff was apathetic and unresponsive. They let you think they were doing you a favor by waiting on you. Not a good experience. I noticed a change in dimeanor yesterday, and it is a welcome change.
Good luck, Joel, with your new position. Sad to say, we don't miss
Dennis.
The Roadrunner and the Quail courses are in great shape and can be challenging. We enjoy the lay out and had a great time.
Started on time, courses are in great shape, carts clean and ready to roll. Played in a the recommended time, there were four in our group. We played the courses from the gold and the copper tees, the courses played well from both set of tees. Would definitely play again.
Course was in good condition.
Fairways, greens and tee boxes were in good condition. Play was fast. I appreciated that they don't cram tee times close together so it doesn't get jammed up on the course like some of the other courses in the area.
Wish there were a way to show an in between maintained and pristine as I think the course is in between the two, better than maintained, but not pristine.
