Poor customer service
I made a mistake and arrived 1 hr early for my tee time. Course was wide open and attendant made me wait in my truck 1 hr until tee time. Very poor customer experience.
Eh
I wasn’t expecting much for $50 on a Saturday but I should have just spent the extra $10-$15 to play any other Dallas area course. Not their fault that the clubhouse burned down so can’t blame them there but no drink cart on a Saturday is less than ideal and no real food or anything available other than some small snacks. Guy checking us in was a little standoffish, not necessarily rude but didn’t seem like he was happy to be there by any means.
Now for the course. Even for Texas winter golf it was below par. Fairways were hard. Tee boxes with very little grass. Just nothing to really rave about. Greens were the one area that was decent. We’re rock hard like the fairways but rolled pretty true. Most likely won’t come back unless something drastic were to change.
Great bang for your buck
The greens were in great shape. The fairways were okay but for what I paid all of it was fantastic!
Average Course, Fair Value
AS of January 27th, 2023:
- Clubhouse burned down over Christmas so there's no amenities
- Carts are newer and have SUPER comfortable seats
- Greens are in good shape--and pretty fast
- Tees are rough and need work
- Fairways are not great but predictable for January
- Pace of play was good---4 hrs 10 minutes for 18
- Cost of $25 on a Friday is as much of a value you'll find on a Friday
- Several course holes have off places (trees specifically) where you HAVE to drive it perfectly to have a 2nd shot BUT you can usually find a different route around those trees...
Terrible
No clubhouse due to fire, should disclose this when booking. Not worth the full price they usually charge, course conditions were rough.
Decent place for price.
No clubhouse. So don’t expect food and drink at the turn.
Not enough carts, overbooked tee times, poor conditions, VERY hard and fast greens
Everything was bad…
1. Overbooked tee times and hour delays from scheduled times
2. Not enough carts for tee times booked
3. Useless starter didn’t control pace of play
4. Greens were unkept, hard and inconsistent
1 hour behind
There was a frost delay, which meant that I didn’t get in 18 holes before the sun went down. The course was in “winter” shape. I still love this course though and will continue to play.
Awful
Pretty awful experience over this past weekend. Booked a tee time on GolfPass for Sun. 10/29/23 for the morning. Showed up ready to play and no one was there, the course was closed.
We had lots of rain over the weekend so I call on Saturday to be sure the course would be open. Gentleman who picked up said, “we never close!”.
So either someone slept in or they closed and didn’t notify me.
Course is never in great condition but you can always find a tee time here in a pinch…guess I know the reason why.
Not worth the $50 tee times
The staff and cart girl were all SUPER friendly and polite!!! But the entire experience was just ok…not worth the $50 fee. They’re still out of a trailer and they don’t seem to be working to get it back into the clubhouse. Again: staff and owners were friendly and very accommodating. The duck creek drinks were awesome!!! Just too expensive for dry, dead fairways….Mesquite is my home course and it’s $38 for great fairways and just as great greens, bunkers, etc. I will come back here again to see if they’re going to fix it all up or not…but I’m gonna try to use deals to get back there
Up and coming
I can't wait to see what the new owners do with this place. Greens are nice and the layout is awesome. Does have its challenges as well.
