Greens are great conditions are solid.
All around solid course, price is very great for the course.
Better then Expected
Never played the course before, saw the reviews and was skeptical on course and staff. It was a busy Saturday as expected and group in front of was slow but we maintained our composure until they left after front 9. The staff was very friendly even though they were slammed with people and also quite humorous even though reviews said quite the opposite. One of the Marshals was an absolute pleasure to deal with and he talked with us on several holes throughout the day. Will definitely come back and play again!!
Nice neighborhood course
Visiting from Houston, looked for a round of golf and unfortunately all the good courses were country clubs. The other courses near Allen were very poorly rated. Chose this more so as a last resort.
I was not too disappointed, the price was right. Staff was adequate. Seemed like a one man show in the temporary trailer pro shop. I was first one out at 7:00 and blew through the course in 2.5 hrs. Front 9 fairways and greens were consistent with a muni level course. Back 9 greens seemed to be a big improvement.
Overall a pleasant experience. It’s an aging course with pretty decent maintenance. If I lived nearby wouldn’t be too opposed to play this as home course. If you’re visiting from out of town, you’ll find this course to be adequate. It’s no country club, but also far far from being a dirt track like some of the other public courses nearby.
Memorial Day Golf
The course is in really good shape. Greens are rolling well. Played on Memorial Day so I can’t blame the course for the pace of play. They have a “rule” about having no more than four golfers per group but I guess they made a holiday exemption. I would play it again
Get what you pay for
Rude person at pro shop not friendly and condescending. Allowed a group of 7 play who showed up 30 mins after their tee time. Horrible pace of play and poorly managed course. 3rd time playing course and all have been bad this will be my last time playing at Duck Creek. Sadly the course is nice and the greens aren’t bad, just so poorly managed.
Poor Course Conditioning
Acknowledging that it’s early April, I’d still say that course conditions were well below average. I’ll admit that I’m spoiled, as most of the golf I play is at courses with 4 or more stars; however, there was rough patches on almost all the fairways, weeds were sprouting all over the place, the water holes looked like swamps, and the greens were so dry and firm that many good shots just didn’t hold the green. Half way through the round, I joked that the entire course should be deemed ground under repair as all our lies were in the fairway but on hardpan! That said, other than the massive gap between the 9th and 10th holes, the course had a nice routing. I can see a map for a quality course that just isn’t there right now. I hope that things improve once they rebuild their clubhouse that caught fire last November.
Club house burned down on Thanksgiving but the course is open and in good condition
Backed up for more than an hour…
Frost delays backed up the tee times for over an hour. On top of that, the clubhouse was burnt down so there was little to no staff running the place. Any “good” carts were sparse and the entire place needs an overhaul.
Refund request
Hello,
Duck creek seemed to have a kitchen fire or something. The course was shut down and the clubhouse destroyed. I was not able to play there. Golf now should not have them listed on the site. I’d appreciate a refund for the tee time booking.
