Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Pines Course
About
The Pines Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood. The Links and the Ridge are the other two. The courses can be played individually or as three different 18-hole combinations. The Pines Course is named after the mature, tree-covered landscape. It and the Ridge Course make up the original layout at Eagle Ridge G.C. They were built over a sand and gravel quarry that was used to help build the Garden State Parkway in the late 40s. The unique and undulating topography is a result of this. The towering pinelands lend a sheltered feel to the course as well as a challenging element to the game. There are also strategically placed bunkers that come into play along the greensides.

First Time Playing Here, I'll be back (If the place isn't developed into homes?)
Excellent course-Excellent condition, played holes 10-27. Loved the links layout especially. No food service on Mondays was a bummer. Pace of play was somewhat slow for a Monday, but the weather was beautiful, so.. Played with a former member who told me the the place sold to some investment group, and there is talk of developing the course into homes. That would stink, as I plan on coming back at least a couple times a year from here on. Would be a loss of a gem of a course.
Great course but was extremely slow. Waited on every shot.
Great Shape, nice day.
Eagle Ridge is the top of the class in Ocean County. Played the back tees and the tee boxes were MINT.
same goes for the fairways.
Greens were still recovering from Being aerated so from past experience I felt they were a little slow. They were also slightly bumpy.
The bunkers need some work, and I hope they put some effort into them over the winter. The few I was in we’re not raked. I do not mean by players, I am referring to the course did not write them.
The staff is always friendly there and accommodating. I’m a little disappointed in what used to be the best practice range for practice for public play in the area But it simply has not been kept well. Overall, Eagle Ridge Is a gem compared to other public courses in the area.
First time playing after 20 years
I had previously played the original 18 holes approximately 20 years ago. So this was the first time playing the 19-27 holes.
The course was in very good condition with the exception of the greens. We were only informed when we arrived that the greens had been aerated the previous 2 days.
The course layout was also a little confusing, not being familiar with the course. Some very interesting holes and elevation changes. I recommend having a rangefinder with slope and always going with an extra club when in doubt, to avoid front bunkers. A good mix of long and short par 4s, and reachable par 5s for long hitters.
I enjoyed playing the course and hope to return to play again when the greens recover from aeration.
Poor Communication or Outright Fraud?
This is a Course with three nine hole tracks. Not until arrival with my guest from upstate New York and reached our 1st green did we realize (never informed either by GolfNow or course) that two of the tracks had aerated greens and the third track was closed so they could aerate it. Needless to say our outing was not a success.
Very Disappointed Golfer
Hoped For A Good Experience Got Otherwise
Entertained a friend visiting for the week and was hoping to show him a good time on a good course. Unfortunately neither when I signed up nor when we arrived at the course did anyone mention that the Greens were being aerated and sanded. Very disappointed both in Golf now for not advising of this issue nor the course for advising of this issue.
Love this course
This course is always so well kept. Course was in terrific condition. If you've never played I highly recommend playing it.
Excellent course. Greens rolling perfect. Fairways in great shape. Tee boxes in good shape. Pace of play was definitely slow.
