Derrell Witt had a hand in many of Carlton Gipson's successes, including Houston-area tracks like Greatwood, and the impressive renovations at BraeBurn Country Club. Pine Crest was his first solo project, and he was able to use his background in landscape architecture to move over 250,000 cubic feet of dirt tocreate 13 lakes that form the basis of this semi-private course. The water helps the crew keep it in lush condition compared to other courses in the area.
The best hole is the last one, playing 571 yards into a narrow, tree-lined fairway with an approach over water to the green.

Long course & lots of water ⛳️

Green are pretty bad
No complain about the layout of this course. Fairway is about 2 and one half stars. Greens are really bad, there are a lot of bumpy weed. You can never have the right speed, because you never know how many bumps you would run into. I brought 3 friends the promise me that they will never comeback for a long time.

Work to be done
I have played this course before, roughly 4 years ago. Returned to play on 2-10-2017 and what a change it has been. The fairways and greens are lacking maintenance. The majority of fairways are hard, while the greens are sand pits. It's unfortunate the bad condition the course is in, since the layout is excellent with nice challenges.
Also, the course charged our group more than what was stated on the golfnow site after purchasing the deal. Even though it was minimal, it's just the fact that it was stated differently.

Fairway is hard with less grass.
The Green's condition is no good. Not maintenance good.

OK course
This course is laid out well and has enough challenge, however the greens, bunkers and gateways were in very poor shape. This may be due to the time of year, there were workers sanding the greens while I was playing. Overall, this is an adequate course to play if you have business in the area and want to hit a quick game, but not worth traveling in to play.

The shape of the course is consistent with the rumors that it is going to be sold to a developer.

Be Prepared To Wait
Course was in pretty decent condition, better than previous reviews lead me to believe. Fairways were cut, but full of grass, bunkers didn't have weeds and were full of sand, overall looked better than I expected.
The biggest problem was the wait, on a Wednesday afternoon. I've never seen such an overcrowded course, where tee boxes were sometimes lined up two groups deep. Always felt like I was rushing the group in front and always felt like I was being rushed by the group behind me.
I have never waited so much before every shot, really messing up my rhythm. Waiting at the tee box, waiting on the fairway, waiting to chip to the green... If you ever manage to get on this course on a day you aren't sitting around so much, it's probably pretty fun. Otherwise, avoid it.

Another public golf course
Fairways could use some grass and green can be little better.

The course was over booked. We had a tee time at 1.58 pm and other people at 2 pm. There were no golf carts available until 2 pm. We started playing at 2.20 pm. Poor management overall. 5-somes or more players in a flight were allowed, we saw a flight with 7 people!!

Fairways are in bad condition
I hate to write a bad review on this place!
But the fairways were in cow pasture condition. Just can't find a good lie in the middle. Greens were in good enough shape, will hold you ball. Putts were slow. I have played this course many many times and love the layout. Lots of water, got to hit good shots here.
Anyway my conclusion is stay away until the fairways are good, then definitely come here. (Bunkers were horrible 2) too many single players
Rough Ride
If you're looking for a cheap round, you've found the place.
Overall conditions are sub par. Many bald spots and potholes(yes, potholes!)
There's water along the way but it doesn't hinder the round.
My playing partner said it best when he said, "if they could find a way to grow some grass, it wouldn't be too bad.
So, if you're on a budget it fits the bill.
Speed of play isn't too bad. Driving range is Ok.

Not Bad...
Course was in pretty good shape. Probably considering all the rain we have had. Course was nothing special but good for just a round of golf with a couple buddies. Used the GolfNow app...but don't think it was much of a "deal" on there after all the fees.
Overall...not bad, but was fairly run down (building, etc)

Bad Shape
Please avoid playing this course at all costs, horribly conditioned. Fairways have no grass, hard as rock, and greens are in bad shape.

Horrible
Do not waste your money on this pit! Greens are diseased. The fairways are brown and very dry. The tee boxes are so hard its like trying to put a tee into concrete. Sand traps have overgrown grass in them. I played until the 9th hole and left. Total waste of time and money. The owner obviously doesn't care anything about up keep.

Nice Course Friendly Staff
Really like this course it is a challenge and greens are fine.Pace of play is good also havent seen a marshall yet or cart girl selling refreshments maybe dont have them? Good experience and good price.

Below average greens
Average price but course is in poor condition. Greens are not always green and in need of attention to remove other unwanted grass.
Fairways are not fair at all.
Rental clubs were used too much and too pricey.
If you want to play golf do not drive here specifically for this course. Nothing to remember.
