Aldenham Golf Club - Church Course

Staff In clubhouse amazing shame same cannot be said of pro shop. Unhelpful on previous occasions an no info when booking, turned up to find behind society and endure a laborious 5 hour round, last time no trolleys on course but o ly aware when at pro shop, great course in good condition but lack of information let's it down.

very attractive course, with many tree-lined holes framing the fairways and greens nicely. Only downside was we (a 2-ball) were stuck behind a 3 ball who were very slow but showed no inclination to let us through at any point. Made for a slow round. Some of the tee boxes could have been slightly better maintained too.

Nice layout; no straight up and down holes.
But the fairways were in poor condition with many semi- bare and scabby patches. Possibly due to 2 hot summers in a row but I feel the fairways need more attention.
Greens were lovely. This is a very picturesque course with many trees as you wind your way through many copses to come out to the next hole, without seeing dozens of other golfers.
A newly refurbished clubhouse and very friendly staff make this club a definite revisit.

Had a great round. Only challenege was a lot of groundsmen activity so several waits for greens/tees being mowed - no problem here but it happened several times and no acknowledgement from the ground staff. Did spoil the round at all and it was great to see the course in such good condition. Great fun and would recommend. We'll be back

First time playing this course. Fantastic & friendly staff who were very gracious and accommodating to visitors. Lovely clubhouse & play assistance really helped pace of play. The only thing to let this place down was the course condition. Fairways were really bad and 50% of greens were in a very bad condition with far too much sand/water. Water on greens was up to my show line. Any other green was so wet the ball stopped dead leaving a pitch mark about 1/3 - 1/2 of the ball. Shame as the course had real character and was a challenge, especially the par 3s. It really was not worth £37 vs a public course i play up the road for £17 which was much better. Look forward to trying this again when in better condition. Appreciate the weather has not been fair to green keepers with the heat & thunderstorms but expected better at this price.

Courses I've played very recently in MUCH better condition. The condition did improve around 60yds from the green but I was very disappointed.

Course is in fantastic condition. Really enjoyable and challenging!

Fantastic course, with challenging narrow opening holes... The course opens up in the back 9. You are rewarded for staying straight of the tee, and punished for straying off the fairway.

Fantastic easy walking course. some interesting holes but not too long. Great condition considering current lock down . Well maintained with excellent friendly staff doing a great job in trying circumstances.
Cant comment on any club or pro shop facilities as both were closed due to social distancing measures.
Would definitely play again and would recommend to anyone who likes a pleasant game of golf and not a slog round a monster championship course off the tiger tees

A great course for high and low handicaps. Greens in superb condition as are the tees. The fairways are a little yellow with the amount of sun and lack of rain but there is enough grass on them to get your club through the ball still. Very impressed

Really enjoyed playing this course for the first time. Course was in a great condition. Green were lovely. Will definitely be back.
