Good but very slow
Played mid-week and unfortunately the pace of play was very slow. Golf etiquette needs to improve when you are waiting on the tee of a par 3 whilst the players in front look for a ball. A simple call-on keeps pace of play moving.
Other than that love this course. Gary the pro is very good and the course is in great condition.
Great course, challenging.
Played on this course before and it is a great course but on this occasion it was extremely wet in places and a 1pm tee time was not ideal as it got murky soon. Played as a group of 4 , good company.
The course was in really good condition considering the amount of rainfall during the week.
First retirement golf!
Went with two others. Despite recent heavy rain the course was in excellent shape. Greens very tricky, but a fair course. All three of us want to return, and are looking forward to playing here again when it's spring/summer and in peak condition. Oh, and the pies in the bar are excellent at the end of a round!
Lovely course in great condition
Played here with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Pace of play was a little slow in front but all in all a great day and very friendly staff.
Lovely course
Really enjoy playing Bury GC. Quite a forgiving course with fairways in great conditions. Greens were very sandy but we’re at the time of year when maintenance need to happen.
Overall really good!
Tight course
Played after reading some positive reviews. It’s a nice course that’s well maintained. Found the pace of the greens varied quite a bit. Some nice holes although some tees are close to greens. Well worth a try though
Fantastic
I’ve been lucky enough to play many courses this year and I have to say this is probably one of the best we have played,.not for the faint hearted quite hilly But some real feature holes starting with the first. The pro was very helpful giving directions for the first few holes. We have already decided to book as our society day out when the world settles down. So if you want a challenging course with lots of character great greens this is the course for you
Challenging
This course is fantastic, not i would say for a high handicap. Every hole keeps you on your toes, punishing for the wayward shot. Will definitely play again and if you haven't yet, put it on your list you won't be disappointed!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What a great course.
I have been playing golf for twenty years around the Northwest and over the last 4 weeks I have played Whitefield, the Stand and today Bury. In my opinion these 3 courses have to be in the top 5 and Bury number one. If I didn’t only have a 25 minute drive from south Manchester I thought I was back on a course in Perthshire Scotland and not Greater Manchester what a excellent well designed course from the first hole to the last no two holes the same. When your playing a course and every time you reach the next hole you know your reaching the end and you don’t want it to end that’s the feeling I had today. I could have easily headed to the first tee and play it again. Hopefully I will be playing again on my birthday in two weeks time. Helps when you start with a two and end up with 36 points.
