Class set up
Sam the pro and the lads there are really helpful.
The course is in really good condition considering the weather of late.
Well worth a visit
Great course a bit off the beaten track but worth the trip. Weather was kind to us but can imagine in windy conditions the course is a different animal. Very well maintained, friendly staff and members nothing to fault!
An interesting challenge
I seem to have escaped this course over many years of golf until yesterday. This is one of those courses you don't forget too easily, including the journey there. It has interesting holes, nothing very long but the weather can make it more of a challenge. A fair course, to all golfers with some risk reward element to it. The fairways were in good nick, the greens, although not fast (some recent rainfall) they were consistent. The back 9 provides some great views over Manchester if you have a little time to spare along the way.
Staff and members very friendly. Highly recommended.
New mills golf
Course in good condition greens a little slow but overall very good course
Very nice indeed
Played this twice in 4 days and was awesome.
Hired buggies for what was a very hot few days.
Greens were fast and views around the course were awesome.
Defo be back again
Fantastic course, one of my favourites. Lovely front 9, quite open but with many tricky greens, back 9 quite different to the front with more of a woodland feel. Views on both are spectacular with Kinder and open countryside surrounding the course. Condition is fantastic, variety of holes excellent and value is good. One of the best courses overall in the area. I would happily be a member.
Quality from start to Finish
We’ve played here twice in a week, that’s how good we thought it was. The front nine offers stunning holes that are only bettered by the scenery. The back nine offers complexity, challenge and rewards if your brave. The wind was a factor on both days and on higher ground it plays havoc with a wayward tee shot, 16th is a Particular delight. We will be back!!!
New Mills Golf Course review
First time I played New Mills and I had been wanting too for quite a long time. The course had been closed a long time through waterlogging in the winter.
Well I was pleasantly surprised, the Pro was a nice young guy who was very helpful and talkative.
The course is split between the road the front 9 being over it from the clubhouse. I found the course to be in excellent condition, perhaps have better signage to the next Tee box as I had to use my card to work out where they were. Greens were simply excellent,
Onto the second 9 and I felt even better, some holes were very challenging and the views! This course must be up there with the best views in the country.
I will be playing here again, even if its for the views but mainly to get my score down.
5 star great course.
This course had 2 unique tee shots never faced by me in over 50 years of golf
You’ll feel on top of the world if you play this course because you’ll be looking down on the surrounding hills of the High Peak. The course though not long or overly wide is a good test of one’s game due to the undulating ground on most of the holes.
On 2 par 4 holes there is a quarry face close to the tee box; unbelievably so on one hole so tee the ball high and don’t forget your body tilt if you want to make it over.
My only slight criticism would be the tee boxes which look like they haven’t been repaired with sand and seed for a while.
There had been a big competition on the day I played but as I started my round at 3.10 I didn’t catch the last 4 ball until late on in the back nine; obligingly the guys let me through straight away.
I thoroughly enjoyed my day on the course even though the sun wasn’t shining and it was a tad breezy. Well I only dropped 2 shots on the front 9 whereas the back 9 turned into a bit of bogey city, bugger.
