Toughest course

Apart from the 1st hole the first 9 holes were the most intimidating we had ever played. Mostly blind shots , long carries to get to the short stuff. Lost balls with no idea where to look. Not easy to find your way round as few signs. 2nd nine was a far better test and was generally sensible. Wouldn’t recommend it unless you play with a member.

Best Links experience in Cornwall

I decided to play here after carefully reading all the reviews and thinking it would beat me up as a 20 handicapper, I shouldn’t have worried, I only lost one ball on my last hole the 7th and they was a pulled iron shot.
Yes you might need to be confident to hit blind tee shots and second shots but other than than relax and enjoy!
I played on a miserable day when the mist was in and got very wet but still played well, scored well and throughly enjoyed the experience
I must make special mention of 3 members you invited me to join them from 8 to 18, that certainly helped on my first visit.
Greens were excellent even with the rain
Off course the reception was friendly and the food and drink good value a good quality
Congratulations to all, can’t wait to return when on holiday next time

Holiday golf

Played in a four ball this course is very differcult would not recommend it for high handicap golfers you will lose a lot of balls unless you can carry 200 yds off most tees But saying that the views are amazing overlooking the sea so always something to look forward too

Very tough golf course

The course is in very poor condition due to the prelonged hot weather. This made finding a white golf ball on burnt out fairways very difficult. If you are going to play for the first time you need a cousre planner/guide.

Good course

Hi, this was the 3rd time playing the course whilst I have been on my holidays in Cornwall. It’s a good course and it gets easier the more you play it as there’s a few blind shots etc. Played under h/cap this time with no balls lost! Course always in good condition and is quite hilly but this makes the views superb. I would recommend this course to play!

What a wonderful links experience

Played Perranporth on a breezy, fresh autumn day. The course has featured in a number of articles as a fun experience. It did not disappoint. After the recent visit of storm Brian, I thought the course might have been a little waterlogged, however it was in fantastic condition, fairways remained firm and the greens fast and true. I will be visiting again next year and can wholeheartedly recommend this venue. |Well done to all at the club.

Beautiful but beware the hidden monster

I played perranporth on a gorgeous sunny Sunday with little to no wind, which is apparently un-heard of. I had my lovely wife walking the course with me and the staff in pro shop were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The course was in ok nick, not the best presented links course I have played, but good enough. Now this may sound like a normal review of a normal course but what was to happen over the next few hours was to nearly break me as a golfer.
Perranporth is an utterly beautiful piece of land with stunning views however what you don't see is how hard the course is, there is trouble everywhere, if you try and take on liberty with it, it kills you. Blind shots, steep drop offs, raised plateau greens, thick rough and to top it all lightning quick rock hard greens. The par 5's are the hardest I have ever played and even sub 300 yard par 4's are difficult, god knows how this place plays when wind blows. If fancy a challenge please only play this place in good form otherwise you will find a golfing torture chamber where the golf gods rotisserie those who displease them. Tips for this place beg, bribe and cajole a member to take you out. As they it takes many years to learn this place and you may lose your weight in golf balls. I would play here again but not alone and would have a long warm up first.

Amazing views

This is a challenging course and you really have to watch where your ball goes as there are quite a few blind shots. The course was in great condition with fairly fast greens. The views from this course down to Perranporth beach were amazing. overall a joy to play here although quite tough in windy conditions.

Good Course

I played here whilst on holiday and the Mrs went horse riding.

The pro shop guy was friendly enough, course layout strange with lots of blind shots which make it difficult if not played here before. I think I could take 10 shots off my score when you know where your going (Shot 99), The par 5s on the front 9 ruined my card!

The course was in great condition with superb fast greens which were true and took the break as seen. I would recommend you take less club than your used too as the ball bounces and runs forever!

Only complaint was pace of play and took 4 hrs 50 mins for the round and waiting on every shot... Still would recommend playing and the views are great!
