great course crap weather!!
Golf course has improved a ton sinc last year. Greens better and draiange better even with torential rain. nice clubhouse aswell. great service
Value excellent condition good challenge
Good challenge a most play great day great value also
Great course
Great course, much preferring the back 9 over the front 9. Sometimes the greens could do with a little work but it’s a really enjoyable place to be.
course looked great upon arrival nice big pro shop , driving range , good parking.
variation of holes was decent , up hill down hill , left and right.
greens are absolutely shocking.
the greens are the worst we have played on , in about 5 years.
won't be playing this course again especially fornthe money we had to pay (£52 for a two ball)
Big investment needed on a good greenskeeper to get this a better course and better experience.
Regent Park
Arrived to be told only back nine open so had to play twice. Not a problem BUT course was in poor condition with lots of work seemingly not complete which after 3 months of lockdown is unforgiveable. Greens bad, two had visible drainage channels across them. Then to make it worse we were on 17th tee and saw 2 groups come down 1st. Captain and his mates. Seems one rule for him. Shocking behaviour. Not worth £25 that's for sure.
Poor
Played here on good Friday, wasn’t informed that the front 9 was closed prior to booking so we could only play the back 9 twice. Some of the greens were unplayable due to drainage works which left trench like features running across the green. Won’t be in a rush to go back here!
Absolutely shocking
I have played this course a lot in the past but it is in a shocking condition. When booking it stated there were about 5 holes out of use, in fact only 9 were open.To start the tees are uneven and sloping as well. Some fairway are in an average condition but it is a quagmire everywhere you walk. It has been churned up by the tractors and the whole course lack drainage. The greens are abysmal as they are bobbly and one looks like it has had a pipeline run through it and hasnt even been re-turfed with new turf, and ive seen less sand on a beach than what is on the putting surface. This was a complete and utter waste of money and I advise anyone thinking of playing here - think again. Myself and playing partner have vowed never, ever to play here again
Better Value elsewhere
Course is ok. A nice par 5 down the side of the driving range to start (watch out for the range balls) and a few nice par 3’s other than that quite an average course with other courses in the area offering better value for money.
Terrible conditiom
Like playing in a swamp. Worst condition course I have ever played on. Shame as it’s got real potential
Overall very poor
The golf course alone was in very poor condition, fairways churned up all over as if they had moles the size of a bus, bunkers flooded that bad they were green side ponds, extremely boggy fairways causing balls to constantly plug, greens were in a terrible condition that by the time the ball got to the hole it was concussed and to top it off no warning that 4 holes were closed when booking on the app or by the staff when arriving on site, this was only discovered when on the first tee via a sign. Greens keepers were cutting an empty foot golf course instead of tending to any of the above issues. The course should of been closed and it would of saved everyone the misery. This will be our first and last time visiting Regent Park Golf Club.
Badly looked after
First 9 holes are atrocious, can’t tell where the fairways are, greens have hundreds of patches in them, it’s just not playable. It’s not acceptable at all to play on, even if you’re a beginner it’s really bad. The back 9 is slightly better but still, fairways are hard to see as they’re not cut short enough and the tee boxes grass was higher than my tee. Definitely won’t be returning.
Very very poor first 9 to the point we was going to walk off . Luckily we didn't because the back 9 was quite decent. 3rd time we've played it this year and won't be bk till next year
Poor condition
Im not sure if we just went at a bad time, however on the front 9, we lost 3 balls in the fairway as there was so many grass cuttings lying around. There were also ground staff on the course more or less right infront of us for a number of holes. The shop was meant to open at 7:00am and only opened at 7:15am, just 5 mins before our round which made us rush around to get to the tee on time.
The greens were just awful. On three occasions I had to move my ball to avoid ground which should have been GUR.
I'd hope they will look to work hard on it over the winter, as it has great potential.
Only 9 hole open and once first 9 were done there was a queue to get back on the 10th as too many people were booked on so just left. Course not great
Shockingly Awful
We arrived at 06:50 for a 07:12 tee time and the place was deserted apart from greenstaff out cutting the course. We stepped up to the tee box and it was quite long grass on the 1st but we put it down to the time of day!
We played the 1st and the 2nd with no real issue although course conditions werent great with long fairways and orange/yellow greens!! As we made our way to the 3rd tee there was a sign explaining that 3,4,5,6,7 were all closed holes! At this stage i wasnt happy given the fact that this wasnt signposted on any part of the Golf Now or Regent Park GC websites. Anyway despte that we climbed on to the 8th tee and played 8 and 9. The 9th by the way was purely awful. The fairways were very long and dangerous in places (see photos). We finished 9 and made our way to 10.
To get to the 10th tee you walk past the clubshop which was now open. It was open and at the same time had 20+ blokes outside of it ready to tee off. There was a competition being played with the back 9 Being played twice. Again no signposting to this anywhere so we now found ourselves behind a huge group of blokes. I spoke to the lad behind the screen in the clubshop who basically blamed Golf Now for not putting anything on the website, yet had nothing to say when i showed him the Regent Park website with nothing on it either.
When i asked about a refund i was told to seek it from Golf Now, which is what i 100% intend to do. I will be contacting the chairman of Regent Park aswell as the whole thing is ridiculous. £26 each for that is nothing short of daylight robbery!
The worst
Honestly one of, if not the worst places I have ever tried playing. I played with my friends dad who is a very well off man and has played some of the best courses in the country, but even myself as a beginner was disgusted by the sate of the place. The fairways and the greens looked like somebody had been riding quad bikes on them. It was disgusting I wish all the best to the club, but I will not be playing nor recommending to any friends.
Don’t waste your money
They have a lot of nerve charging £25 for this course. A few holes aren’t even open and the rest are in a terrible state. Apparently we should have received a call about the closed holes but we didn’t. Drainage seems to be the main problem and this is in summer. I used to play here as a kid and it was very popular and in better condition but over the years it’s been allowed to deteriorate to the point where it’s not worth a visit. Go somewhere else!
Such a shame
Played this course a year ago and was very impressed. Not so any more.
Walked off after 9 holes this morning. Would have thought I was playing in November judging by the conditions of the course.
Now, I'm not the best golfer by any means, but I don't like loosing balls when I do eventually hit the fairways! On some holes, I really couldn't tell where the rough ended and the fairway began.
Very wet, very poor condition.
Such a shame as it is a great layout.
Better courses in the area for less money.
