Wet

A great layout. Always enjoy the mix of parkland and semi links holes However never seenthe course in such wet condition. We are now in May and this is far from competition ready . A lot of bunkers need a lot of attention. .it was good value for the price, but would have been disappointed if we had yo pay the full asking price.

Course details

Good value for money course was very wet in places due to a lot of rain in last few weeks greens was in great condition some was fast and add big breaks in them especially from close distance pace of play was very slow I was on my own and took nearly took 5 hours to get round don’t think is worth the full green fees at this time of year but I only paid £26 for it in golf now so it was well worth the money will be back some point next year hopefully in the summer when course should be in top condition

Amazing views

Awesome championship course, each hole gives you something different to think about. The views on the links part of the course are second to none, castle views to the north and Filey and Flamborough can be seen to the South. Superbly kept and friendly, helpful staff. Will definitely be returning

Great Course

First time playing Scarborough South Cliff and what a day, managed to get there early for coffee and sandwiches then we were told that we could tee off earlier as no one was booked before us.
The course is in great condition and the coastal holes are wonderful with views of Scarbourough and further down the Coast.
The Pro shop is well equipped and the staff were on top form.
Overall a great day and a must play for all handicaps.
Just remember though this is on the coast so be prepared for the weather to change anytime.

Beautiful course!

The views from the middle holes on the coast are stunning. Friendly staff, fast play, greens and fairways in ver good shape. Lots of uphill / downhill / side hill lies, but such is golf along the coast.

Fantastic birthday treat!

Love playing here even though it’s a 2 hour drive. Course was in lovely condition. The greens were a little slower than usual but we’ve had a few days of rain prior. Good after the round was lovely and the bar staff and pro were great as usual.

Sunday at South Cliffs

Course was challenging particularly by the sea. In good condition, every hole different.

Pro shop and clubhouse were very hospitable, thanks to the steward Jason for his hospitality. If you go try the roast potatoes, tasty.

So Slow

Played on the 26th of March and it’s up there amongst the slowest rounds I’ve ever played, granted we were a two ball and expected a bit of waiting but not on every shot and nearly 4hrs 50 to get round. There were 12 in a society but they finished teeing off whilst we were having breakfast, they backed the course up. We saw them on one hole with nobody in front of them for at least two holes and they were walking like they had their shoelaces tied together and it wasn’t a day to be out there forever.
The course: It was disappointing to find out we were going to have to use fairway mats or go 90 degrees and play from the rough, we did both but we’ve never seen as many divots not replaced on a course and not just in the rough so obviously some didn’t bother with the mats. There were also numerous pitch marks not repaired, some people just don’t care. The greens were ok tbh, slow but we expected that. There were a couple of nice holes and we preferred the holes on the clubhouse side of the road to the ones on the sea side.
We only paid £16.99 so it wasn’t too bad a deal but if id paid the £32.99 that it was originally I wouldn’t have been happy.
The clubhouse, pros shop and the staff were great and the breakfast was lovely.
Would we go back, no but it’s not the worst course we’ve played, maybe not off fairway mats and on proper tees in summer then it will be a different proposition but I’m afraid I won’t be trying it again.
