February Golf…65 degrees
This course was extremely tough and played longer than the 6300+ as advertised on the card. Great weather for golf…was a little surprised by the Cart Path Only rule today…most of the holes were bone dry…4 hole’s definitely earned the CPO designation.
Fun Track
Love this course but they are always too strict with the carts
Great course
Course was in good shape considering the recent rain. Very challenging. Will play it again
Love this course!
We play Potomac Shores every time we are in the area visiting family. The staff are friendly and the starters we have met have been terrific. The course layout is challenging but not extremely tough. If we lived in the area, this would be the course we would join.
Very good option
One again, I enjoyed my round at Potomac Shores. The course continues to improve and is real gem in Northern Virginia.
Great conditioning but some things to work on.
Course was in amazing shape especially after the few days of rain we had. As a result the greens were quite slow, and we were cart path only, both understandable.
A few things of note…
It was a very hot day and because of the course layout and the lack of halfway house, one bev cart wasn’t enough with a packed golf course. I recommend loading up on drinks whenever you see the cart as you may not see it again for 2+ hours. Also the water dispenser on the short par 3 wasn’t working so that added to the dehydration.
Otherwise I recommend this golf course to everyone for the views and dramatic elevation changes. Really fun layout!
Great layout
$95 on a weekday is too much, but I had a buddy in town and he had never played here so we booked a morning tee time.
Tee boxes had been punched recently but fairways, bunkers and greens were great.
Beverage cart was not available according to pro shop , starter (very friendly!) told us there would be someone out on bev cart. Never saw them!
You get about 15 balls per bag to warm up….
Water stations and bathrooms…ice/water machine on 13 is broken, bathrooms look like they haven’t been touched since last season?
I play once a week and for the price of one round here I can play twice a week elsewhere, and will!
I have lived in this neighborhood for over 24 years with a Nicklaus signature course a mile away and I choose to go to other courses…
Over 5 hours for 18
This track is straight out and then straight back. So be prepared to only see the cart girl once. There are bathrooms but they need a snack shack or something for the turn. Took way long for 18. Asked the marshal to ask get play moving but that didn’t really help. Everyone is super nice and the club house is beautiful. This course is definitely beautifully tough! Will comeback to raise my handicap!
Fantastic
This course is one of the best if not the best course in the region. Fantastic layout and spectacular views. Even in the winter the course holds its own. I’ve played it in high season and nothing compared when the fairways are in full swing. A must play.
I like this course very much .
Hole #1-18, every hole different, I will come back play again.
I play many different country, and all of United stats but this course is best 10 ranked.
Slow play
The course is in pretty good condition, however, if it’s a nice day you have to expect to spend at least 5 hours on this course. It’s incredibly slow. I’ve played here many times and it’s usually the case, we’re always right on top of the people in front of us and it’s purely because it’s way too slow.
Great layout and course facilities. Mid afternoon starting time delayed 12 mins and pushed us into darkness as we finished. Lots of twosomes allowed on the course messed with pace of play. But layout, value and conditions were excellent.
