Challenging, very scenic, well maintained, excellent course
Played for the 2nd time. Great layout and well maintained. I am a 12 handicap but I would recommend playing from white to enjoy the course. Gold is professional level. Blue to very difficult. Services are great w free range and outdoor dining. Only complaint was the half-way house closed and drink cart ended by 6pm. At this time, sun goes down around 8:30pm and can be very hot until sun goes down. Otherwise, great course to play and enjoy the very scenic layout and background.
Great golf course.
Great greens and Fairways . I like play here .
Love it... Escape Worthy Golf
While I would imagine it hard to play here often at the price point, Trump Ferry Point is worth the money as it gives you an Golf Escape worthy round without leaving NYC. Best stretch is between holes 5-8 when you do not even feel like you are in the City. Spend the money once or twice a year and play this course.
Awesome and Not - ITS COMPLICATED
so, like many golfers, I am conflicted on Ferry Point. On one hand, I totally love that the city of New York has a high-quality Jack Nicklaus Design course that is close by and quick and easy to get to. The course is in great shape, the design is fun to play, and as long as the wind and fescue are not too high its a proper fun challenge but scoreable. The practice area and putting green is very good. It could use a better chipping practice area. The new clubhouse, restaurant, and outdoor areas are really very nice with great views.
downsides? The name Trump prevents many from wanting to spend their hard-earned dollars here. The greens fees are set up for wealthy corporate T&E accounts and not so much for the average golfer's bank account. The pace of play can be quite slow as the fescue gets tall balls are touch to locate for most, and the course is unforgiving for most average golfers.
If we could somehow transfer to the management contract to a different company and rethink the tee sheet pricing this would be a dream course to have 20 minutes from manhattan.
Trump Golf Links Ferry Point - Outstanding
I played the course back in September in advance of a large charity outing I chaired for a Foundation that i serve on the Board of. It is an amazing track and the entire staff was extraordinary! The location is one of a kind and the views of NYC are truly amazing. One little unknown fact is when the course was being constructed, they utilized a large amount of debris from the old Yankee Stadium which was torn down in 2009/2010. I plan to make a few more road trips with my golf buddies in 2020!
My outing which I was unable to play in later in that month due to a business commitment came off without a hitch and all of our participants had a wonderful golf experience. We raised over $50,000 too!
Heads up
Course is being aerated starting 8/26. They’ll charge full price despite this fact. Who aerates right before Labor Day weekend?
great day out
This course is always amazing to play and the staff is excellent. afterward we had a great dinner there where you will find the food to exception
Amazing
From the course to the food at the dining room an amazing experience.
Positively surprised
Great practice, venue, golf, cart, staff. The views are mind-blowing. We really enjoyed playing golf here and will be back. Great change from the crappy golf courses a in NYC. Best pace of play by far from any NYC golf course. Not cheap but worth it with the special deals. Great crowd too.
Great NYC muni
For some reason my other review was deleted, but like I said in the previous post, I love this course. The range is and practice facilities are awesome. The course is in amazing shape and perfectly designed. The fairways are wide open but strategic bunkers placed in the center of the fairways and greens with mowed down sides are it’s best defense. Can’t beat this layout
Overpriced With a Side of Bad Service
It's a boring course for the money. Once you've been through the first few holes you've seen it all. There's not a single memorable hole on the entire course. I played just yesterday and not one sticks out in my head as I type this.
Service was horrible. Bag attends didn't seem to want to do their jobs. When I asked about ice for the cooler on the cart an attendant said that I needed to take it into the bar myself and ask someone to fill it. Ridiculous for a round that cost well of $200.
In fairness the course was in very nice shape with greens that were running true.
So if you want to play an over priced, forgettable, poorly staffed golf course in good shape-Trump Links Ferry Point is the place for you.
Good links course
Great links course but a little pricy for a public course. Wish it was half the price.
You get what you pay for
Yes, most people will think the price to play this track is outrageous. You cannot argue the course is aesthetically beautiful and conditions are kept immaculate. The beautifully designed holes reward you with good shots so the course is definitely fair.
The newly built club house is beautiful, attentive staff is courteous, and food is delicious. Yes it is expensive to play but most people don't realize it's better than most country clubs and you get what you pay for.
Spectacular views!
Amazing that there is a beautiful course in the middle of the Bronx. We had a great time! Back nine ate my lunch but still was great!
Good, not great.
The views and layout are spectacular, you can’t argue with that. The staff inside and at the bag drop were equally great. (I don’t like, nor understand the rule about no push carts, especially with the GolfNow rate being a walking rate.) We went outside, and the wait for a spot on the range was long! Lots of people giving friends “lessons” and family lessons.... Out on the course, I was surprised at how few bunkers were raked, divots in the fairway refilled or fixed on the greens. We had 2 twosomes behind us ... which were either let out as 2 twosomes, or a foursome purposely split up. Overall a really nice track, not a great value.
