Good pace of play
I have played this course several times this year and have yet to be disappointed. The staff is friendly and attentive. The course is straight up, not very difficult. Well maintained. 9 holes took our foresome less than 2 hours to play.
This course is well maintained
Course was in pristine condition. Stafff is always Friendly. One of my favorite 9 hole courses to play.
Ladies Day
Mornings must be ladies days. Slow pace, not playing
through, Laddies Hit it 25yards at a time, then stop for next partner's shot - no ready golf. An 1 1/2 hr round becomes a 3hr one ( 9 hole round ). Have to stop and wait to hit before every one of my shots.
Bottem line: avoid weekday morning rounds.
Unbelievable Deal
This course is $35 for 9 holes usually. I got a deal for about $17. For the price, I don't think there is a better deal within 25, maybe 50 miles that I am aware of. Take advantage.
Great Course
We've played the course many times this year and always have great experiences. The staff is friendly and the course plays well. The only issue was it was windy and a lot of leaves on the course and at times tough to find your ball on the fairways. After golf we went to the restaurant and had nachos and beer. Again another good experience with friendly staff and good food.
Nice course
Enjoyed playing the Tunxis Red Couse yesterday. Course in very good condition and staff friendly. I would recommend this 9 hole course.
Excellent for intermediate golfers.
We love to play there because it is not crowded and the people in the pro shop are so nice. My wife especially likes the position of the red tees which give her an excellent chance to score well.
The course itself is always in good shape and the greens are perfect.
You will not be disappointed playing this gem.
42 holes of golf
Tunxis is a great course and has 42 holes which allows you a lot of options and diversity.Course is always in good shape and staff is very friendly. What else can you ask for?
First Round of the Year
Course & Greens were in nice shape. Rough was
grown in making play challenging.
Rough rough
Tunis Red offers a pleasant round of golf if one avoids the rough. On the day I played it was at PGA championship depth. Not having played in such confitions before it was a challenge I welcomed. First hybrids, then irons added strokes as the rough won. In fairness to handicap limits I only reported double par on two holes.
Good course
This course is good for a beginner or a pro. Well maintained and ready.
9 Holes of Fun
I've played the white and green courses before but never the red course until this past Saturday. A very nice course when you want to sneak in a quick nine holes. I really enjoyed it and look forward to playing the red 9 again.
Perfect 9 holes
This simple 9 hole track has something for everyone...course in great shape, greens in pristine condition, generous fairways, plenty of length for long hitters, enough sand to make you think and a drive over water to get to the fairway. If you looking for a pleasant 9 holes play here. The bonus: It was a beautiful day, we were done in less than 2 hrs and home in time for a full Sunday of football/golf.
