Consistently a Great Course!
Helpful, friendly staff. Beautiful course, well maintained. No waiting on each hole, great course for advanced beginner/intermediate player. Excellent deal offered for 9 holes.
Very enjoyable round
'Top-10' weather combined with very well maintained course and friendly staff made for an exceptional nine-hole experience on Tunxis Red course. Golf Now deal was the frosting on the cake! I will be back............
Red 9
Very nice course and facilties. We are more like beginner golfers and find the 9 hole Red course to be just right for us. Enough challenge without being too difficult and very enjoyable to play.
Dissapointed
After hearing a lot of good about tunxis my group was dissapointed. Course is dry, poorly marked, grass high, greens slower than a turtle. The only good part was the clubhouse and starter was friendly and nice to talk to.
9 holes - Tunxis
Booked online for a friends birthday. Short notice and could only play nine. Course was great. We will be back to play nine.
A Nice 9
Tunxis Red is a great 9 hole course that has enough challenge for the intermediate player but is open and forgiving enough for the beginner. Fairways are generally wide and well maintained and the greens ran true. There is water in spots (Mostly up the boundaries) but if you are hitting it well, it won't be a problem. There are a few holes that set up beautifully from the tee boxes; 7, 8 and 9 are particularly nice, 7 takes your drive out over the large pond shared with a tee box on the white course. Kind of a shorter version of #18 at Pebble beach. I could have played 18 on the white course for almost the same price on golf now later in the morning. It was a great deal.
Enjoy
Fun & easy to play
The Red nine has everything...short and long holes, great conditions, excellent hole layouts, a challenge for all levels of play.
Friendly, helpful staff
I was impressed with the red course, greens were well maintained
just a beautiful and scenic course
I played yesterday and it was great i hope to return
again this year. I am in my fourth year of playing
golf and tunxis white course is one of my favorites.
Relaxing day
The Red Course at Tunxis is a nice way to enjoy a friendly 9-holes of golf with friends or business associates. You're rewarded for your good shots, but penaltized for the errant ones. Water fountains and ponds, plus the nearby Farmington River provide a scenic break from a hectic work week.
Early Spring Round
Course was clear from any winter debris. Greens were in decent shape for the weather we had. Looking forward to going back as the weather warms up
9 holes with Cart small bucket of balls
Worked out well, 9 holes, with cart, and small bucket of balls for about $24 a person. Good value for a chilly fall day. No one in front of us, no one behind, played in about 2 hours. Played the front nine of the Red course for the first time, some holes were tight and challenging, but really like the course.
Well maintained but unorganized
Went here to play 9 holes with my dad booked it through golf now for a great price!! They had my reservation in the pro shop but the starter had no idea, I booked it for the red 9 hole course, but they had a tourney on that course, unorganized!!
nice course
Great for the price ($10/9holes). Normal $30 i think. Would go again.
I was lead to belive it was an 18 hole course not 9
I was not happy when I finished the 9th hole to find out it was $27.50 for 9 holes plus $5 I paid golfnow.com
It was a great time, great value.
We played 9-hole Red course. Played 9 in 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Good course overall
We played the red course. Maintained well enough. The course is easy to moderately challenging. Fairways are wide open. Greens do not require too much reading. The course is very reasonably priced. Good for a quick round of golf.
Better greens than most public courses
I played the red course, a 9 hole course, and was very pleased. Very quick 9. Place is in good shape. Good greens, a hair slow, but smooth and fairly true.
Played 9 holes
I love Tunxis, course is always in good shape, and it's not far from home... Staff is super friendly also!
We played the red nine. It was a nice relaxing nine, on a well maintained course
