Situated just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, White Pines Golf Club has been a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The club offers two courses, the East and the West. The West Course is longer than the East by 400 yards and considered slightly more challenging. The layout is relatively tight and there is an abundance of trees, which means you'll need to be accurate to do well. The greens are large and challenging with difficult-to-read breaks. There is also minimal, but strategic bunkering along the greensides. The fairways provide plenty of variety with some that are narrow and heavily tree-lined and others that are wide with no trees in sight. The golf course has several challenging holes but it's forgiving enough for beginners to approach with confidence.

Rude staff
The club house staff is extremely rude and ignores customers for their own conversations or cell phones. The halfway house was closed so we tried to grab food at the bar but got the same service
Nice layout and some challenging holes
Everything was good except the pace of play. Took us 5 hours and 10 minutes to play.
Fun Golf
No one can grow grass like White Pines. A good challenge from back tees while allowing high handicappers to enjoy as well. Greens were very good and fairways lush.
OK, but slow.
It’s an okay course, but the pace of play is super slow. At one point there were 4 groups waiting at a tee due to a bottleneck of players ahead. In addition our cart cut off at random times on the course requiring a total reboot before we could move again which was highly frustrating.
Nice Round
Got a great rate on Tee Off. Great that we were flexible with tee time. Some tee boxes need some work, but over all was a fun round, and pace was good.
Thank club house
I scheduled our foursome at 6:40pm instead of 6:40am. We showed up at 6:20am and realized I scheduled for 6:40pm the guy in the clubhouse squeezed us in starting on the back 9. Thank you for taking care of us.
So so
I found areas of the course neglected. Carts were old and needed maintenance. GPS sucked. Kept going to advertisements requiring me to touch the screen each time i wanted distance. I eventually stopped using it. I would not play this course again
Good value
This is a very nice course to play for the cost. Staff is very friendly and the course is in pretty good shape. Most other courses would charge $20 more easily.

SOME PEOPLE PLAYING ON THE COURSE SHOULD AT BEST BE ON A DRIVING /PRACTISE RANGE OR SHOULD BE PLAYING BINGO AT CHURCH!!!!!!!!
Great value.
Played East course. In good shape. New sand in traps. Cart Girl on course. Good prices. Had lunch after round. Pace of play excellent. Finished under 4 hours.
