Great day for golf
A friend and I played during his spring break from work. Course was challenging. Greens were extremely fast. Talked to someone who was a member and they said they weren’t usually that fast. I will definitely play this course again. The staff were very kind and helpful. 1st Class experience.
Slow and in poor shape.
Took my dad here for his birthday. Rough was dead and the greens hadn’t been cut in ages. Took us 5 hrs to play 18 holes. Price was also very high. Staff was very nice, but would have rather gotten my money back than played this course again.
Excellent course
I enjoyed this course very much. It was a bit of a hike from my home in Atlanta but worth the effort. The greens were sanded recently which was a bit of a downer but otherwise the course was in excellent shape.
Although still rather pretty, I expected a little more given the location of the facility on Lake Oconee. No complaints though overall.
First time playing
Good course. Not a lot of water views as would be expected for a course on the lake. Course was in good condition. Only drawback was that they were preparing for a member function that was not disclosed and needed the course to be cleared by a certain time. You would think they would have rangers out there to maintain a swift pace of play, but not the case. All in, harbor club (at twilight) is a good value for an alternate to Reynolds plantation.
Great course for the money.
Seldom do you get to play a course in a resort area that you feel is a good value for the money. Harbor Club is a great course at a fair price.
The course was in fantastic condition and the greens were rolling great!
Memorable & Enjoyable
A challenging but fun course with generous and well manicured fairways. The course design displays severe hazards from the tee box with none hidden in the fairway as surprises to those unfamiliar with the layout. Each hole is of unique and memorable character creating excitement and anticipation as to what the next hole will bring. Opportunity to use all clubs; assuming you hit them all equally well. Greens were terrific holding shots and rolling excellent. Errant or long green shots are held by reasonable rough providing a chance to recover with a easy pitch and roll. Nearly all tees and greens are elevated or sunken so bring good legs. The staff are welcoming, and the club house is nice but the layout is unusual.
Fantastic
Great course in excellent condition. Range bells included in package. A nice pro shop and bar/dining room. Could not wait till mid-day for the Golf Now special rate so played early with their standard online $59 weekend rate and to me, the best $59 course around.
Great course, in really good condition, Staff was very helpful, even got us out before a 4-some to improve pace of play. Would play course again.
Great course
Course was in great shape...even with some heavy rains. Starter was very polite, friendly and good with the advice. Greens fees compared to some of the other courses is much more manageable
First class greens
Great course. Perfect greens. Fast and true. Great layout. Still winter conditions so dormant fairways.
Great Layout not so nice greens
Played Harbor Club this week with 3 friends. Had a great time, weather was perfect and the layout is really neat. I did not like the green complexes as they are all elevated with a "curb" running around the entire green. Never saw that before but it may be to keep the greens hydrated. I thought the cost was way to high for the time of year and condition. It was not in $200.00 per round shape. Maybe $100.00. Staff was awesome, clubhouse was fantastic. Rangers and starters were all top notch.
Ok conditions for February
I played on a nice February day a few days after a torrential rain. Course was wet and in winter Bermuda mode. That being said the fairways and rough weren’t too, bad. Greens were in great shape and very fast. Pace of play was slow - about 5 hours.
Top 5 public course in GA
We love coming to Harbor Club. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Food is great and Golf shop is always stocked with great apparel.
We have played this course 3 times now and always in great shape. It helped that we last played just before the club championship but also played in June and it was also in great condition then. We have yet to experience slow play at Harbor Club. We would play it more often if green fees were slightly more reasonable but for now we''ll continue to look for hot deals on GolfNow
Great design
Greens were deep tined aerated 10 days ago so we're slow on bumpy. The course is a super layout, through the woods but adequate landing areas make it fun and challenging for all handicap levels
Exciting and Unique, Two Great Reachable Par 4's
Exciting layout with great mix of scoring holes that you can attack, and very difficult holes that take strategy and execution to navigate. If this course didn't have several spots where homes/OB stakes cut WAAYY too close to the area of play (number 3 is ridiculous), it would be one of the best layouts in Georgia. The fact that a couple of homeowners actually have electric fence around their yards should give you an idea. But even with that nonsense the course is a really fun and strong design. Conditions were very good for early August, even with slow greens as they protect the bent grass from the heat. The greens were healthy and rolled smooth, just very slow. Practice facility is adequate, nothing great, but it's all you need. Staff are good. Not overly willing to greet and serve, but they aren't bad either. The food quality is outstanding (we ate lunch there three times). Truly great dishes and execution. Dining service was very slow but it was worth it for the food. Overall, a good experience and would recommend if you are in the area.
Beautiful Course
Beautiful Course. Very well maintained. Great elevation, and great views. Amazing layout, and I was able to play in under 3 hours for $54. Was a steal!
Great Course and Experience
The course had been recently aerated, but regardless of that, the course was in spectacular condition. This course has no lackluster holes and provides a picture worthy hole every 4 holes or so.
The staff was extremely friendly and treated my father and I as if we were members.
Overall, the course is well worth a long drive and consider yourself lucky if this gem is near you.
