An Enjoyable Afternoon!
The greens were aerated on Aug 4th and by the 7th they were immaculate. The entire course was well kept, I would rate it an A-. The staff was very courteous and friendly. The only negative was the amount of trees that line the fairways.
In Excellent Condition
The course is in terrific condition, especially the greens. They roll very true, without the little bumps and bobbles I've seen on other greens on the Northshore. Considering how bad the winter was and how many other courses still have dead areas on their greens under repair, I think the greenskeepers at this course deserve a bonus. The bunkers are also in great condition compared to other courses I have played this summer. I liked the type of sand and depth of the sand in the bunkers in the 4 or 5 I hit into. The sand in the bunkers I was in wasn't that super fluffy, deep stuff that automatically gives you a fried egg. All the personnel were friendly and added to the pleasant experience.
no pin placement
Played for the 2nd time this year still no pin placement guide. All flags same color when I brought up to managment 5 weeks ago I was told flag were on order. For what they charghe for full price it is embarasing that there is no way to determine where the pin is located.
perfect day
Great course, perfect condition, great weather, shot well. Perfect Golf day. Course is a gem
Great value course.
I've always like to play HP. Excellent golf course, easy access, and to get tee times during the week.
A great value for a full blown GC.
Wet wet wet
Located on flood plane the course has poor water drainage.
Had to skip 2 holes because of still water on fairways.
The back 9 was nicer than front. Front is narrow but challenging.
Staff was above excellent. Helpful and accommodating. Not the best value but always make sure to check golfnow.com for hot specials or discounts.
Highland Park Gem
Wonderful staff, course was in fantastic shape. Very challenging, beautiful setting with mature trees, water, and interesting holes. Great course!
Great layout
The course offered a lot of different shots. The par 4s were pretty short but very protected.
good course
good course. we are fun. little windy. norrow fairway.
How golf courses should be run
Course was in great condition compared to a lot of the other courses. Had a great time from the bag attendent graving our clubs from the car. To the really friendly staff. Never saw an employee without a smile ( bag attendants, rangers, starter, pro shop and beverage cart girl). I would recommend this course to anyone. Eventhough fairways are tight I had a great time. At the end of your round they have really friendly worker that clean your clubs and assist you to the car if you would like wish more courses would offer these services. Thank you staff of highland park I had a great time.

Decent track for the price
Course is generally in good condition, especially considering what this past winter has done to some other courses. Not a tremendously long but can be challenging with a few narrow fairways. Can be a little overpriced when not purchasing the discounted rate.
Nice layout
Course is a good fair challenge. The forward tees are appropriate for novice and Seniors. Greens are a little rough probably due to difficult winter.
A local favorite
HPCC is a local favorite offering a challenging test for every level of player. I've heard rumors that the city is going to close it and return the land to public park area after 2015. This would be a great loss to the north shore public links golfer and all those who have spent years committed to patronizing this sweet course.
Excellent coarse
One of the best public coarses at northshore. Well-maintained, interesting, challenging , friendly staff
In "Private Course" condition
I play here all the time, it's in great shape. You will hit every club in your bag. Some very narrow tee shots, others wide open. Some short "birdie" holes, some very tough par 4's & par 5's. 3 great closing holes. 16 is a 420 yard dogleg over water, voted one of the toughest holes in Chicago. 17 is a short par 4, very tight off the tee, but can get back the stroke you either lost on 16 or will lose on 18. 18 is a brutal par 5 requiring 3 great shots.
My guests always like the course, the staff is very nice, and easy to get to right off route 41 / Edens Expressway!
Fun and Challenging Golf Course
Highland Park Country Club Golf Course was extremely Fun and Challenging. And everyone who works there (I had contact with) was truly helpful and pleasant. Would certainly recommend. Thank You Highland Park Golf Course for providing a wonderful Saturday at the course...
P.S. Watch out for the trees.....
Sept 17, 2013
the course has a variety of different features including shots over water and elevated shots. The course is well maintained and I enjoyed myself very much.
Solid Course
Got a decent deal and been wanting to try this place. Would def go back. Front 9 is a bit narrow on a couple holes and then opens up on the back. Fun course. Well maintained.
Challenging layout, great staff, good condition.
I've played here once a year for the last few years. Always in good condition. Challenging tee shots; some of the holes are very narrow. You'll be penalized if you don't keep it straight off the tee.
