Mission Hills Club
About
Mission Hills Country Club in Northbrook opened in 1926 and over the years it has become a local favorite. The championship golf course measures to 2,897 yards from the back tees. Although it may seem relatively short by modern standards, the layout is spread across more than 130 acres of rolling woodlands that provide a spacious feel. Mature trees tightly line the fairways and there are several holes where water comes into play. This seemingly mild golf course is tougher than it first appears. It will test both your accuracy and course-management skills. Mission Hills Country Club's finishing hole is a demanding par 4 that features the most difficult green to putt with a lake to the left and sand bunkers all along the right. You'll want to keep your approach below the hole when you attempt to tackle the green.

excellent condition not overprced
it is not as tight as everyone claims. the course was fun to play. fairways very good. greens very good. the rough was a little high but that is normal for this time of year. we teed off at 11:10 so pace was slow. the OWNER himself came out on the course and speeded things up. we heard he kicked a couple of people off. he takes pride in this course. he just purchased it last year. the snack shop was ok but had no decent place to relax for a brew after the round but that's ok. twin peaks is just down the roa in wheeling. overall i would give it a 9 out of 10 for value and conditions of course. i will definitely be back.
Great greens
The greens have weathered the winter well and are true as can be.
Mission Hills 1
This was a great little course in the past. The greens used to be the star of the course. The greens now are in very poor condition. They are very slow and there is very little natural break anymore. The sand in the traps is no longer existent. You now hit out of a dirt bunker. It is sad to see how far the course has fallen.
Good conditions, but the pace of play is slow
The course is in good condition and the greens are running fast. Pace of play is slow! I was only able to get 9 in because there was such a back up.
Great Features
The course was fantastic even though it was wet. The course is hilly and the greens were tough. Overall a great experience and worth the value.
Mission at Mission Hills
Good short course. A few holes need a little work but over all a great time
High expectations leads to disappointment
Just OK. Not much I can say that has not already been posted. There is NO private club feel. The Men's locker room is a dilapidated mess. Once out on the course the same vibe... In need of repair. At the turn a six pack of beers set us back 24 dollars. This place is obviously in need of the public dollar to breath some life into it. Go there with LOW expectations and you might find it worth the effort.
A nice tight course
Fairway conditions better than most. Only 1 green was in poor shape. Always an enjoyable round here.
this course has a great layout, a bit narrow, greens in great shape
the course was in good condition. car path only, the should have let us know this before booking. greens in good shape. great value for money.
mission hills
course was in good shape. some fairways needed to be mowed though. played in 4 hours. convenient location just off the tollway
Good track for the money
nice staff, good condition course, challenging, value for the money, good overall condition
Nice course
Very nice course. Well kept and not busy. The course runs through a condominium complex, so the novice golfer can be nervous of hitting a window. Overall, great value.
Weird routing. Some decent holes
Could be and probably was a decent track. But a terrible routing and substandard conditions make it hard to believe this is a private club. Early season may have had something to do with it but routing doesn't get affected by weather
Shot makers will like this course
Course is built within a Condo community with not much real estate. Most holes are on the short side with tight fairways and some with buildings in range of tee shots. Course just opened for the season last week so greens were subpar. First out so no waiting or worries about adjacent fairways that I'm sure could be a problem. Would not recommend to advanced player, nothing special about it.
Great course for the price!!!
I thought the course was in great shape, the greens, tees and fairways were fantastic (especially for Nov!). I had read some negative reviews, which made me skeptical, but I have wanted to play here for a while, and the price on Golfnow was awesome so I gave it a shot. A great experience and a great staff. I think those negative reviews came from ex-members who now have to share their course with us public duffers...
Tight fairways, good greens, nice staff.
I went with my friend on Tues. 11/5/13. My friend realized he forgot his golf shoes at home. I inquired about rental shoes. They stated that none were for sale & they don't rent shoes. When I came back with my complimentary cup of coffee, my friend was being handed size 9 shoes that the attendant found in the back. Class move Mission Hills! Thanks.

Tight but very playable
This is a fairly short course with tall trees and small greens to provide a challenge. But the fairways are still wide and long enough to pull out a driver so the course is still enjoyable to play. Staff is friendly and the grounds are maintained nicely. This used to be a private course that is now open to the public so it still has some of that private atmosphere. We got on for a very reasonable rate which made the round more enjoyable. Have played there twice now and definitely would go back again if the price was right.
Narrow fairways
I found this course to be too narrow for my taste. Also, not a single ball washer (maybe too late in season?). Otherwise, course was well-maintained, challenging enouph, for a greate price.
course was a little beat up and pace was way to slow.
Sand traps had no sand. tee boxes were beat up. no food
Pace of play was really slow. Good price on Golf Now though
The course is not for beginners.
Good course, enjoyed it very much. We were paired with two inexperienced players who subsequently had a very long round. Water and sand were strategically placed and for the most part groomed. The only real complaint is the holes were placed closely together, as a result, errant shots went into our fairways.
At one point, there were 12 golfers in one fairway. Those with less than proper etiquette used this as an opportunity to subsidize their golf ball coffers.
Nice course, would play again.
