again???
we play here often. other than the sand (hard as a rock) it is very good. How man times to you want me to rate this course. Give me a break
Well maintained
Really can’t do much better for the price. Tee boxes are very nicely maintained, and overall pace of play is great as well.
Great Track
Great course. All aspects of the course are well maintained. Great bunkering, they show you the path. Greens are terrific despite what others might say. The greens have significant undulations yet roll both consistently and true. I do agree with a lack of off course amenities. The amenities were actually better last year at the height of the pandemic.
If you were impressed with these soft, slow greens, then you've clearly never played a course that has decent greens.
My Apologies
Hey guys it's me, Chuck Farley. I sincerely regret all of the nasty comments I have made about the course. I used to go on Golf Now daily just so I could respond negatively to a positive review, but now I see it's so hard going through life this angry all the time. I wish the course the best of luck in the future!
Love, Chuck
Nothing like having some dbag try to impersonate you, and do it badly.
OK Day
My only issue was that there was was no refreshment specialist on course and no water to drink. the only water cooler was on 1 hole and it was empty.
Also no gps or yardage book.
Course in great shape and greens rolled fantastic
The greens rolled fantastic? They're softer and slower than they've EVER been. They're almost impossible to putt. Local muni courses have better greens!
I think it's funny that people keep rating the Off Course Amenities at this course as "Excellent" even though this course has no off course amenities. No restaurant or food. No bar. No nothing! How can that be excellent?
Spectacular Course (Pleasantly surprised)!
Hidden jem of a course in Lake Barrington with exceptionally well maintained tees, exceptional greens and open fairways lined with trees and of course small lakes to encounter. Good challenge for even the lower handicapper.
Exceptional greens? They're too soft, too shaggy and painfully slow. This place used to have some of the best greens around, but they're so bad now that they make playing here not enjoyable. There are a dozen public/muni courses within twenty minutes of this place that have better greens!
6/23
The course was in good shape, we finished our round in 3.75 hours. Last 3 holes we waited to tee off but other than that, it was a good round. If you have never played there-check this one out.
very scenic course
very nice course, but the sand traps material not so good. grainy, rough and hard.
Too Bad
The greens on this course at one time were very good.. Now they are soft, slow and need a lot of help. It seems that the pins are only changed once a week. The course itself is in decent shape but it is now a daily fee course. The quality of golfers that are now playing Lake Barrington don't care about the course and hence they don't rake the bunkers or replace their divots. The carts are so bad that it is surprising they work for 18 holes. It is sad to see any course go down hill the way this one has.
First time. Will be back
Very impressed with the course. First time playing it. Greens in great shape. Will be back.
An undiscovered gem
This is s a semi-private course in a gated community that far exceeded our expectations. The fairways, tees and greens were all in excellent and the layout is excellent. - very rolling, heavily wooded and every hole is unique. At the Hot Deal price it is a steal. My only complaints are the hard sand traps which were impossible to blast out of, and the lack of a snack bar or cart girl, although they did have drinking water on a couple of holes. We will definitely return to this gem.
The tee boxes ARE very well maintained. In fact, they probably roll better than the painfully soft, slow greens do.
