Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses (2022 #16)
Reviews
Bring plenty of balls
They seem to be working on improving the condition of the course. It’s gotten progressively better over the years. I spoke to the greens keeper and he said they are now working on irrigation of the fairways in addition to tees and greens. There are some drainage issues to resolve too. It’s a good value now but once all that is done it should be great. We lost a ton of balls but that’s not their fault. There are lots of trees and water hazards and we found almost all of them.
The Prairies
We played the Prairies around noon. Weather was nice somewhat overcast and warm at times. Fairways were in good shape, greens were very consistent and very good condition. No bare or dead areas.
Much Improved!!
Wow. Course is much improved since summer 2021. New management is working hard on making this place better by the week. Greens are now as good as most top courses around. Tee boxes and fairways are much better than last year. Still a bit to go but I’m excited to see how this compares in the fall. Course layout is challenging making you think twice on club selection from the tee on many holes. Still very low crowds playing during the week so you can play as fast or slow as you need. Can’t beat the value here either - $32 with cart. Plus they still allow you to walk 9 or 18 if you prefer.
Had a great game. Will definatly play there again!
I really like this course.
This is a really nice flat course. A few holes are challenging. If you haven't played here you should definitely try it.
2022-p1
Pro shop being remodeled but opening soon. No food available because of contract/license issue.
Bad Shape
No food, no beer, no alcohol and course was in terrible shape. Lady at the bar was very nice explaining why they have nothing!
Old Favorite
This course used to be my home /goto course. It's awesome to see they're bringing like back I to the course. It looks really good
Better Every Week!!
Wow, they are really turning things around at this course! I played multiple times last year because it was cheap but it was pretty rough. This year the greens alone are so much improved that it’s a much better course. Much improved fairways and tee boxes also. They still have some work, especially with the bunkers. But by August this place should be in top shape. You can’t beat the value even at full price in comparison to some of the other courses around.
The layout can be challenging making you really think through club selection. On several holes driver won’t be the best option off the tee.
For reference sake I’m currently a 22 handicap. Love this course this year
