Beautiful day at Doe Valley
This course has natural beauty so a sunny, mid-70's day was perfect. This course is one that being off the fairway leads to issues because of the rolling hills but the leaves add to that problem. The greens had been recently dressed; it appears that the heavy rains over a week ago didn't allow the punching to take full effect. Pace of play was awful but it was a pretty day and a Friday so more play was anticipated.
Must be in the fairway..
Nice course, very rolling. We only played the back nine, the front nine was "under repair". So we did the back twice. The best way I know to describe this course is.. the penalty for missing the fairway is..
1 ball.
Every time.
The woods are thick and deep. And everywhere. It's fall, and even being a couple feet from the fairway cut meant a ball lost in leaves and deeper rough. Few more feet and lost in the woods.
fairways are tight
Overall course is OK-greens were nice-bermuda fairways were OK
Great Golf in the Country
Thoroughly enjoyed playing the course. The course was in excellent condition and I got a great price online. If you keep the ball in the fairway you can score on this course, but many of the fairways are narrow and require an accurate tee shot. Good course layout and some interesting holes, like the par 5 12th hole with an elevated tee, down to a valley, then back up to an elevated green. The staff was friendly. The only negative. Was the lack of a driving range. Regardless, will definitely play the course again.
bunkers&greens
It has been 20 years that I played this course.Back then great shape. Now bad bunkers & greens.
Saturday
Now I remember why I don’t play weekends Took 5.5 hours to play, the group in front of us were in the woods all day and apparantley weekend hackers and not letting anyone play thru. NO MORE WEEKEND golf!
Nice find
I have been wanting to play Doe Valley for nearly 20 years it seems. I enjoyed the rolling hills and design variety of holes, ie; drivable par 4 and par 5 with a tee shot that requires extreme precision and length. The conditions were not impeccable as recent rains have made it tough to stay on top of the fast growing rough, leading to longer than normal time needed to find balls in the rough that you know exactly where to look. Related to the rain, the sand was packed so no splash outs. The tee boxes were decent as were the greens.
Nice place Tough
Very nice place, others reviews correct management is doing great job to bring it back to great shape. Green are small and pins placement is tough a real test on your game . You play in the woods bring extra balls unless u hit them strait good luck very tough course will humble your golf game
Rude
People that work are rude! Payed to play 18 holes and would only allow us to play 9 said they close at 8. Ask if would could get a rain check because it doesn’t state that and he said no ! It’s not his problem! Horrible way to treat people!
Sneak one in
Course still on winter conditions, greens bumpy and has bad spots on some. Still fun time was had
