This course had many great looking holes.
This course has a lot of character. It provided all the challenge we could handled.
Not bad for price, greens could use some work
I have golfed Marlton many times as its the closest course to home. Overall its a fun course to play, fairly short, but still fun. They have improved the tee boxes and sand traps tremendously in the last few months, now they need to focus on the greens. Some of them are just in poor shape while others roll true and are in great shape. Again though, not a bad course for less than $40 give the other choices around. Hotdog at the snack shop was good :-).
Enjoy playing
Had fun playing there staff was funny and really enjoyed talking with the owner. The only thing I regret was not asking for a free round of golf
This course was in very good condition
We enjoyed playing here. Would go back, although staff is lacking in experience.
First Time in 2015
First time playing the course in 2015. Course was in good condition even with greens showing signs of recent aeration. Will play again.
First time here
First time playing this course, first of all directions to club house not very well marked, small road side signs that are hard to see. Cart that I used had a very hard time climbing hill on the course, signs to next tee box not well marked, if you have not played here before easy to get lost. Ranger was not present to speed up pace of play had a foursome in front of us who seemed to be playing like no one was behind them. Some of the greens were in poor shape, bare spots and in need of re-seeding. Not sure if i would play here again but would consider it.
Ok
Was an ok course. Some tough holes along with plenty of good scoring holes
Good test need to be straight over long.
Many of the back tees were being worked on, course played shorter. 10th green was temporary and number 11 is a beast--no chance when you go right off the tee.
Good day
The course is working to show improvement, and is looking very good. It is being well maintained. There was however one green that was temporary.
Bad shape
At best this course should be nine holes that way they could afford to keep it in better shape. Staff is friendly it really was just the condition of the course
not as good as normal
would be a great value if the course was in normal condition. played blue tees for the first time and they were terrible. greens were chewed up. not a bad course if they would keep it in shape. probably a tough task because of the rain this year. still an old standby.
Back after a number of years and sad things have slipped a bit
Arranged a 9 AM tee time at Hot Deal price which goes a LONG way in helping hold up overall rating. Course was basically wide open which allowed for a sub 3 hr round which was also a BIG plus.
Played here several years back and found the course in much better overall shape back then vs. this round. A majority of the tee boxes need attention as well as almost all of the greens. My #1 pet peeve and indicator of how well a course is doing is checking green conditions for unfixed ball marks. At courses that are sliding downward, you usually find a lack of caring by players in fixing their ball marks and on the course today, the amount of ones I personally fixed other than my own was APPALLING! Have NEVER seen so many MASSIVE ball marks in all my years of playing. (Come on folks, 10 seconds worth of effort goes a a long way) Despite ball damages, greens were still fast but rolls were an absolute potshot.
Fairways were in decent shape for the most part with some weeds evident. What makes me sad is that the overall course layout and changes in elevation make this course visually attractive and challenging.
LAST NOTE: Was told course was under 90 degree cart rule when we signed in but witnessed players who teed off before us blatantly disregarding this rule. Saw some tracks that actually rolled all the way up to the fringe of the putting green in some places. (The joys of morning dew providing evidence...) Once again, a lack of respect by the players speaks volumes. Marshals/Rangers to enforce rules???
Unforgiving layout
The course is very tight and short. It is challenging to keep your tee shots in play and you probably should leave your driver at home. Most greens and fairways were in acceptable conditions but some are not. Only snacks were available . I really don't see how this place will ever turn a profit.
Marlton muni
Their are signs that the course is being worked on, but there were some greens that were close to being lost due to damage or virtually no grass left. Some tee boxes were pretty chewed up, need to move the tee areas more often to give them a break and heal. Virtually all the fairways and rough were great and very playable tee to green. That was much appreciated since I come from the western US where irrigation is now a premium due to the drought there. Bunkers were generally in good shape, some had new, white sand but many were packed and a few had some volunteer grass growing. Course supt needs to take more trips around the course to check on its condition.
Overall the course is a fun, playable track. I usually enjoy my rounds there!
This Course Has Potential!!
The staff is professional and friendly. The course has the potential to be a gem but needs more work. New management appears to be working on upgrades. Recommend paying the golfnow rate until the finished product is revealed.
Marlton
Course was in good shape, moved really quickly around. The only gripe was the lack of food and beverages.
New Ownership improves quality of course
I had vowed to never return to this course even though it is just around the corner from where i live. However, there was a Golfnow discount that was too good to pass up. So, I booked an early morning tee time to avoid the extreme heat and humidity. The new ownership has invested in improving the course. In addition, they have improved the customer service experience for the golfers. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. There was a marshal that made the rounds. Hole after hole looked much better than they did four years ago when i last played. They still have to work on the front fairway of hole 18 as well as a few bunkers that are under repair. This one round has changed my opinion about playing there. I plan to return if there is a good Golfnow discount available.
Try It
This course offers everything that beginners to advanced players will enjoy. I will definitely play here again.
Fun Course
The course is short, or at least feels short, with not a lot of tee shots to hit driver off of it you want your ball in good position for the second shot. The conditions are okay, I'd say average for a public course. The staff is incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome. I would play here again if I didn't live so far away.
