Great old-style layout, fun and interesting holes, greens rolled nicely
I really enjoyed the course, only issue was the pace of play. This course is not for beginners and is not very easy to play if you aren’t familiar with features like false fronts, and if you can’t keep it in the fairway.
Nother great round at south shore
The course was in good shape considering we are in a drought the greens were a little slower than usual maybe because they didn’t want to cut them but overall the place is in great shape go out and enjoy around at South Shore country club
Great pace of play
I have been under four hours the last two times playing here with foursomes in front. Due to town water restrictions the fairways are now mostly burnt out, but greens are still in great shape!
No teo shots are the same
Been playing for years. I find this course really challenging given all the elevation and slope changes, some tough greens. Great course to play. Staff very friendly. Rafael’s is the onsite restaurant and they too are extremely friendly. Great for lunch beer and sunday music. I like these guys.
Elevated Golf
From the Pro Shop to Starter to the Ranger all were very nice indeed. Golf course was amazing. Lot of hills and dales to be had on each hole. You got to golf your ball well to score out there. After the round there is a nice place to sit outside overlooking the 18th green,. Well played. If you haven't played it give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
SS country club
Great course, well kept, great staff and great rates
Makes you work for a good score
I love SSCC, and have been playing here for 20+ years. It’s a true test of your game. Due to the drought, it’s hard and fast. The greens rolled faster than usual, and you MUST keep the ball under the pin on almost all the holes… You’ll use every club in your bag, and be prepared for some hard luck. Many blind shots, elevation changes, and be sure to take enough club because there are numerous false fronts that add 5+ yards to seemingly “stock” numbers. I’d recommend playing the course with someone who’s familiar with the layout. Ask the pros for advice if it’s your first time, they’re more than happy to advise you and offer some local knowledge. It’s a great test of your game and I personally love this classic golf layout!
Great find on the South Shore
An early tee time with two other well-matched players made for a great day at South Shore CC. Despite the sweltering temps, I felt like I got my money’s worth on a challenging and very well maintained 18. I will be going back for sure!
