No longer a lob wedge below Pine Hills - Disappointing
The staff as always was welcoming, outgoing and professional. First class.
The course is still a great and fun layout to play but municipals are in better shape. Cart paths will give you a cranky back by the end of the front 9- they are awful! Bare spots in fairways, bumpy greens, etc.
It is not worth the $130 greens fee on the weekend. Maybe a $75-80 course at this point.
Conditions were extraordinary for Nov 27th in New England. I was pleased to be allowed to walk - and played it in just over 3 hours! Suprinsigly few people out. At $77 on golf now, a real deal!
Great course conditions
One of my favorite public courses on the south shore. The course was in great condition- greens were fast and smooth
Greens lightning fast
Course is in great shape. Only thing notable was how fast the greens are compared to other local courses. Definitely practice a bit before heading out or you’ll be blowing putts by the whole for at least the first nine. I found plenty of greens in regulation but 3 jacked more than normal.
One of my favorite tracks
Waverly has always been one of my favorite courses to play. A very playable layout, with numerous mounds and slopes that help direct your ball back on target. The greens are generally in good shape, and you can make it as challenging as you want by moving forward or back on the tees. My only complaint these days is more with the cost to play the course. I realize the cost of golf has gone up a lot lately, but I miss the days when hot deals here started at less than $100.
First Time
Great course, enough challenges for all levels of golfer. The greens were wicked fast, considering the rain we have had the course was in phenomenal condition!
Petty
Booked through GolfNow. 4th member of the group couldn’t make it due to an emergency and I had to pay for him. Does the course have the right to do this? Yes. Could they have not charged me for it? Yes. It was a petty move by the course in my opinion and because of that, I’ll never play this course again for I am also petty.
Superb Course and Staff
Course was in very good condition. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely play as often as I could.
Disappointing
I was excited to play Waverly Oaks as I’ve heard many good things about this tract.
Sadly, the course conditions were very disappointing.
The tee boxes are in terrible condition. For some reason they weren’t mowed yesterday. Beyond that there are dozens & dozens of unfilled divots on each of them. The sidehills on most elevated greens are in disrepair (a liability attorney’s dream). The greens are riddled with old ballmarks (should have taken a cue from the cart guy when we were putting by the clubhouse. He directed us to the putting green by the 1st hole and said it was much more representative of the course’s greens). Overall the course is unkept. Guessing they’re focusing on building houses instead of maintaining the course. Too bad they have a nice layout and are squandering their chance to make this place shine.
