Doesn’t make sense
Not sure how this place has the rating it does. Course is always in horrendous condition. Fairways burnt out, greens have patches of every color green on the spectrum. $79 for 18 with a cart is criminal for this place. The fairways are lined with rocks and you’re always in danger of doing some real damage to your equipment.
The most infuriating of all is that this place has been cart path only for the past 2+ years. The fairways are already junk. Letting us drive a cart out isn’t going to make them look any worse.
Please sell this course to someone that will take care of it. It’s depressing to watch it fall into disarray.
Remember always car path only
Stay in the fairways or lots of leafs it’s always car path only so better off walking .
Greens are hard and fast
A story of what could be
My first time playing this course in 6 years. I have played it 10+ times over the last 30 years. Pretty obvious that the course is in limbo. Let’s see where the new ownership goes with this layout. This course is potentially a 4, or even 4 1/2 star track. Conditions have deteriorated quite a bit, and it is a hard course to justify playing right now. Too many above average conditioned golf courses nearby for Pembroke to compete. Hard to explain why Pembroke never made that leap to true “top shelf public” status, but it has not happened in my years there. The layout is super challenging, and could be one of those places that hard core golfers would want to try to conquer at least once a year. Unfortunately, conditions just do not warrant that presently. I will be keeping my ear to the ground to see what unfolds with this new era beginning soon.
Needs tending.
This is a great layout. There has been a lot of rain so it should be in great shape but it’s not. The greens are pock marked and they need to get a ball mark repair tool out there.
Fairways were a little mushy but that’s cause of all the rain.
People there are great.
Layout
Stay in play on this course or else !!!!! This course is good because >>. I think it makes you a better player because you have to hit good shots here!!!!
Nice course but the greens
This course has an awesome layout and such potential but a lot of the greens are in such poor condition while the fairways remain clean and nice. Also, the cart fee isn’t worth it because you can’t ride the cart on the fairways. You have to stick to the cart path so there’s kind of no point. I hope they work on those greens because this course could be a really awesome fun course to play. You can totally just letting the buildings and amenities run down as I’m finding with a lot of these courses.
Excellent Comp Layout
The layout of this course is superb! An excellent mix of challenge and birdie holes. plus grass practice area. all the pieces!
others have said the problem is maintenance and greens. they were par for ne muni.
The real issue is trees. the greens dont grow cause the trees around the greens (not in play really) are shading them too much. this part of ne was clearcut right before all the courses were built, so the designers had no clue about the veg...
First time there this year
To. Note going there it’s car paths only all year .
Greens are still bumpy from aeration but are getting there . For the beginning of the season it’s looking good . Will be playing there again .
