West/East at Links of Novi, The

Very busy but moved well.
The West course was my favorite. I would go back in a minute

Our foursome of women played at a good pace and often found ourselves waiting for the guys in front of us. The ranger told US to pick up our play, not the men. Greens are tough, fairways pretty much wide open. The clubhouse staff and beverage cart gals were fabulous, but I'll never set foot near this course again because of the way we were discriminated against as to our pace of play. I know slow play & we weren't it!

Links of Novi was in GREAT shape that day -- tees, fairways, greens, and traps. It would have been a very enjoyable round had the pace of play not been SO bad. It took us 5:10 for our threesome to complete play. The root cause as a foursome in three carts who found themselves two holes back after five holes on the back side. While I did see rangers a few times on the day, it boggles my mind that they did nothing to remedy the situation. I'd like to think it was a one-time thing. I do plan to play there again some time.

I have played this course a few times and I keep coming back because it is challenging for me. It is a shorter course but the hills and the traps keep you on your game. The course is always kept in perfect condition. I can't wait until I play here again.

Beautiful course. Terrible experience based on pace of play. I arrived at course 30 minutes before tee time, checked in and was told we could go out as we wish, wide open. Waited until tee time as foursome teed off just as I arrived. Caught them on third hole. Very slow and group ahead could not get more than 100-150 off tee. Drove up to 5th tee and group was just leaving tee. One of players in group said they were last of 4 foursomes together. I asked if that gave them ok to play slow! Entire hole open in front of them. Watched them struggle for next 4 holes and finally left after nine. Will probably give one more chance as conditions were great for this time of year!

Early Spring golf in Michigan is always a gamble ..on this day it there was a 1 to 2 club wind hat had to be taken into account. I have played this course in several outings over the years so I was a bit familiar with the layout. We played west to east since it is a course with 3 nine hole courses. The guys in the clubhouse and the starter were very cordial and friendly. The conditions were excellent!! the greens were FAST and rolled well. Even though it has been a bit wet this season...I was amazed that balls that hit the green on the fly did not leave any kind of ball mark. The greens were hard and fast but somehow the shots at this time did not just bounce off. Also the traps had NICE sand and were great to hit out of on the periodic errant shot.Hope they continue to keep ths course in this kind of condition as I hope to golf there again

For $25 on a 70 degree Sunday at noon, cannot be beat. Play this course often as it's one of my go to spots. Only issue is this time it took six hours to play! Too many waiting stops along holes, slow play, maybe overbooked? And it always seems I play the east to west course; south course I hardly get a chance to. Still will return again and again, as long as there are deals for it on GolfNow. Otherwise I'm not going to pay $40 or more to play it.

This is a great course, and boy it is challenging! Getting to greens will be tough, once on the green you wont be overly fooled. The grass was perfectly cut, the greens were true, and the staff was super nice. This is a course made for the advanced golfer no doubt! The par 3's offer little relief at close to 200yrds (white tees) so be ready to throw some darts!!

A few shor course are very tough due to the distance.

Wx great & course in excellent shape. Fall foliage was very minimal as course maintenance up to par. Bunkers in great shape if you had to shot out of them. Greens fast & true. Excellent conditions overall.

Great condition for November golf.
The greens were in excellent shape,the fairways were well kept.
They did a great job keeping the course clear of fallen leaves.

It was raining on the drive there and stop on the first hole. we got out just before an outing so the course was all ours. Greens are perfect, fast and lush, just like a country club course played long and we had a great time. There were wild turkeys all over the course along with plenty of other wild life.

I think Links of Novi is the best public golf course in this area, Novi and within 10 mile area. Staff are friendly, big parking lot, well maintained green, 3 different 9 holes, and so on. You should play here!

Course in decent shape. Cheapest place to play in NOVI, South Lyon area and still play a good course.

Very nice course along with a friendly staff however just don't leave your cart unattended because the young cart keepers will take it and remove your things, they are over zealous. our cart was taken from the club house twice, once at the start of the round as we went in to check something in the club house then again when we stopped in at the turn. They cleaned out our cart and took tees and golf balls of which weren't returned they just issued us another cart.

Links of Novi has great staff always nice people.

Our pace of play on July 4th was 5 hours. I guess it is somewhat to be expected on a holiday. I did see rangers on the course and they did speak to the group in front of us who at one time was nearly a hole behind.

I am not a long hitter and typically tees that are 6300 or less is where I am comfortable. The white tees here have 3 par 4's over 400 yards and still a lot of really long par 3's and then 2 drive able par 4's for long hitters. These are all things that make the course tough and slows up play. I think the courses needs some redesign work to shorten some 3's add length to some 5's and shorten some 4's white tees should not be playing par 4's over 400 yards

In the area for work, so we booked this as 1 of 4 courses to play for the weekend. Tee time set for before 8:30 on a Saturday am. Beautiful weather out and we arrived well ahead of time excited to play. The course was maintained very nicely, greens rolled quickly, overall, very nice setting. The pace of play once we pulled up to the 3rd hole was HORRIFIC!!!! The ranger tried to move people along I guess but failed. Our entire round took a little over 5 hours for 18holes. They claim "well it's a weekend morning".. No, how about stop jamming so many groups in such a short period of time and monitor the poorer players. Look, if you're not on the green by your 6th stroke, pick your ball up, you clearly need more practice but don't hold up the course for it! Just too many people jammed in trying to make as much money in greens fees as possible so, it was messy
