Outing!!!
Have played this a few times and found it to be a an enjoyable track. But unfortunately there was an outing so only played 13 holes and quit due to slowness of play. Greens were in very good condition and ran fast and true.
Enjoyable, yet challenging
Very enjoyable yet challenging course
I brought a guest from out of town and we both enjoyed the course which was in fantastic shape. The food was also great and not expensive. Will definitely golf here again!
Driver challenge
Got to hit your driver straight here. Great course though!
Nice Course
Nice course near Lansing. Not to crowded. Course for all skill levels. I plan to return. Great deal on golf now.
Nice Greens
The course is on the shorter side, but it is still very difficult to score because the greens keep scoring down.
Excellent Condition!
Course was in great condition when we played. Tees, fairways and greens were in mint condition. Some of the bunkers could use a litte attention but that is the only flaw I could find if i'm being picky. This course proves that a course doesn't have to be 7000yds to be challenging as the back 9 is very tight. We enjoyed this round very much and the staff was friendly even with us using the hot deal for $11. I highly recommend.
A lot of old school design
Thought it was a fair course. Greens rolled pretty true and plenty of hazards to get your ball wet. Appreciated that you did not have to hit long shots over hazards. First time playing Brookshire.
I like Brookshire ....
Play here many times a year. They keep it in shape and its a good value. Good layout and variety I would not hesitate to recommend
Good public course...has some challenging holes !
Great day of golf....course was maintained well...pace of play was excellent...weather was perfect...green fees were fantastic with the GolfNow hot deal !
the staff there are not friendly at all
When we arrived at 1:35 for our 1:56 tee time the attendant behind the counter told us that he had given our 1:56 time to another group and said thats the way it is. He then promptly asked us for $20 and when i told him that i had already paid for it on line he told me that i hadnt and wanted the $20...thank goodness i had saved the comformation golfnow had sent me so i could show him it was paid in full. If i hadnt pre paid for the golf i would have walked out of there....he was that rude...not a good excperience at all...i will not be going back there
Excellent venue for the price.
Overall, Brookshire was an excellent experience for the price paid on GolfNow. The course was beautifully manicured. The front nine thoughtfully laid out and each hole presents a unique challenge. Golfers that like to shape their shots will love the front. The back nine holes however are so close together that some tees dangerously close to approach shots and number of holes share the same cart path. #17 and #18 are companion par 3s with little differentiation aside from length. The final thing that golfers should no is that they do not appear to have a ranger and the locals appear to do whatever they want. We saw groups of 6 & 8 playing together, and we were held up by a foursome on the final 6 holes by a foursome that appears to be very drunk. They had no one in front of them and failed to let anyone play through.
Slow pace, no rangers, no hotdogs, no beverage carts, very few yardage markers.
Very slow pace and there were no rangers to get the two groups in front of us to speed up. All food is made to order at their restaurant; I've never been to a course without hotdogs to-go. Conditions were average at best. No beverage cart and the pro-shop has just candy bars and pop (no beer). None of the sprinkler heads have yardage markers so most yardages were estimates.
Nice course, slow play
This course is old school, nice layout and design. But the play is SOOOOO slow. We have 4 some after 4some in front and behind us. At times we would wait 30 mins at the tee box. They don't know how to space out players. People where out playing in sleeveless shirts and jeans. When we got to the turn we decided to grab a quick bite to eat. Not quick at all. All food is cooked at the Inn and hot dogs took 20 mins +. It took us 6 hours to play. I like the course itself but will never return.
NICE COURSE
This is a very nice course. It is in very good condition. The course is somewhat challenging, with a lot of hazards. The front 9 has some large ponds and the back 9 has a lot of trees with tight fairways. Most of the holes have some degree of doglegs, and the ninth hole has a large natural growth that you must traverse with a no approach to the green afterword. The course challenges your course management as well as skills.
Great for the price!
The greens roll really well for this price-point. I really enjoy the front nine holes. The back nine-is a bit redundent tee to green. The closing hole is a tough par three, with a lot of bunkers, right in front of the restaraunt, which is really fun.
Open front nine, tight challenging back. Slow greens, but well maintained overall.
For $14, I can't imagine a better golf experience. The course was tight and necessitated good shot placement. Greens were a little slow which is fine by me. Very friendly and helpful staff. My only real gripe was that they had a co-ed, senior league on a Friday night but they let us get out ahead so it all worked out. Worth the journey from Mt. P.
a tale of two nines
the front nine, much newer than the original course is wide open for the most part, but still a challenge. The original nine is very tight with a premium placed on an accurate shot. Distance isn't all that important.
Right now the mosquitos are a challenge
The course play time was excessive.
The condition of the course was pretty good. Our biggest complaint was the length of time it took to play 18 holes. We had to wait at every tee box and also on fairways. It was a Sunday and their were groups of 4, 2 and 3 some's ahead of us.
Good course, friendly staff
Played on sunday and the only complaint is that there were no hot snacks or food readily available for the turn and we hit it about noon. Other than that the course was great. plenty of water and sand to make the power hitter keep them in mind and to mention the staff was great.
