Poor condition this time of year
Called a week before and guy told me greens n course in great shape. Well that’s crap. Greens chopped up n tee box were same way.

The Greens
On that day they were a horrible. Uncut. Unrolled. Multiple bare spots. Excessive pitch marks.

Holding up well to the heat
Course employees are always very nicexand helpful. Course conditions are very good considering the heat spell we have had. Players are always very nice and enjoy their company.

Fun layout, great tree lined course
Was impressed. Fun course. It was a poor man’s ridgewood meets a cheap rock spring course.
I would and did recommend this course to my buddies.
There are two downsides - A lot of waiting (I played on the Friday of Labor Day so maybe to be expected.) and I hear FOUR was yelled multiple times ~8. It’s a very tight course

Pro Needs Better People Skills
We had a 5pm tee time and showed up around 4:30, the pro told us we would need to wait a bit. No problem. When we took our receipt to the starter, he asked “you guys want to get out early,” so we absolutely said yes, with an entire hole open and no one on the tee box. The Pro came out telling us how he “told us to wait til 5 and then went behind his back and asked the pro to get off early anyways.” incredibly accusatory with completely incorrect information. Very much a turn off, will seek golf elsewhere in the future.

Challenging well kept Course without water but with tricky putting Greens .

The only issue is there is not food concessions on site. They should allow a food vendor to sell hotdogs and hamburgers.

Great value
I was not expecting the course to be as good as it is having only paid $44 for a Saturday including the cart but it is a really nice golf course that I will now play regularly. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend playing here.

Good local course
Solid 18 hole. Well maintained. Surrounded by multi use field so it is very loud at times with music blasting. Have been to this course handful of times. No food or drinks at course.

Fun round
The staff was friendly,the course is in good condition.The back nine played a little slow but the total pace of play was acceptable.

Friendly and good golf
First time playing here and even though next to Newark airport you hear no planes , course is ok overall and once you know the lay of the land you can enjoy it more , they run it well and I met a legend named whitey who has worked there for over 60 years ,

Weequahic Park Golf
Very nice course located just off Route 22. Easy access. Friendly and helpful staff. Narrow fairways require straight shooters. Not too long so irons and woods in play often. Undulating greens, a bit slow but in excellent condition. Whole course was lush. Rouch is difficult, and the woods are penal. Cannot wait to try it again.

First of Many
Booked a round here at the last minute when my local course didn’t have any tee times.
I had been wanting to play this Essex Muni for a while. I enjoyed my round with a couple of guys who are regulars. I loved the challenge. It’s not a long course overall but it’s a very challenging course to score. I hope to improve my performance next time I visit.
