Worst Course
Terrible condition all around. Allowed six players to play together on top of poorest conditions. Not recommended.
You get what you pay for.
The people that work here are great and very friendly! The cart paths are in rough condition and the club house needs some love. If your just looking to play an affordable round and don’t wanna be haggled by the country club crowd look no further. You get what you pay for here, the conditions are good enough to play a fun round but also rough enough to keep away the snobs.
Value for the money
Not the greatest shape of a course but for 35$ on a city municipal course. I've played worse. Hole 16 green looks like it has the mange fairways are rock hard and tee box's are uneven lies..
The bent greens were very good and most fairways on the front nine good for a public coarse. Back 9 layout was more difficult with elevation changes ,narrow and spotty fairways. Overall good value
The Muni in Asheville
The second Donald Ross course I’ve played. I enjoyed the history of the course. You could tell it was laid out to fit the land it was placed on. I look forward to playing again some time.
Muni Fails Again
Once again I am disappointed in the overall course condition and staff. One of the mowers made me back off away from my 2nd shot on #9 so he could mow in my ball path which resulted in him knocking my ball out of place ! This behavior is ridiculous and I’ve never seen it happen anywhere else but here
Pathy conditions
What a waste of Donald Ross’ legacy. Shame on Pope Golf and the city of Asheville
Same old muni.
Unfortunately Asheville has not been reinvesting into this course and it shows. It’s almost like they want it to fail.
Typical municipal goat track
Memorial weekend, you would think the fairways would of been cut . Disappointed. Greens were choppy and rough.. bunkers were either a pond of water or dried up like a desert in Mexico.. alot better places to play for 40-50 $ in this area.. SAVE YOUR MONEY
Needs some more love
Donald Ross course deserves more attention from the city of asheville. Front nine is very enjoyable flat course layout, back nine is mountain course lay out. I can imagine what it could be with some TLC
