Good for the money
Played course first time on a not busy Thursday. Shorter course from the tips used driver couple of times. Never seen so mainly straight holes on a course before. Not much to penalize-water in play on 3 holes-scoring course. Smaller greens. Fairways & greens in good shape. Tee boxes on some holes could use work. Shot 75 with 2 birdies & nothing worse than bogey. Don’t hit over the greens-seems to be course’s only defense. Enjoyable.
Sunday afternoon round
There was a bad storm that came through right before tee time, the course drained very good. We didn't see any standing water anywhere. The greens are almost back after being punched a few weeks ago
Nice Layout and course in Excellent Condition at Saluda Valley
Saluda Valley Country Club is an unassuming course when you pull into the parking lot but don't let that fool you because it's a great course! The conditions were awesome (some of the best greens I've played all summer).
The course layout has a few doglegs and a few forced carries over water but nothing unreasonable. If anything I would say this course is flatter than many of the hilly courses you find in the Greenville area; so that makes it a course I would guess some golfers might like to walk. The greens are interesting with different undulations. One tip: on a lot of the greens it is good to keep the ball below the hole.
We played early morning Thursday so pace of play was great (I have no idea what it is like on weekends).
Also, great value and even better for seniors (age 55+) during the weekdays.
The staff was very welcoming. The only suggestion we gave them was to consider getting the Gold Tees rated for women. They only have the Red tees rated for women; which is probably fine for most women at 5053 but for women that can hit a long ball it would be nice to have the gold tees (at 5510 yards) rated.
They have a grill but we did not eat so I can't speak to the food at the course.
We will definitely play this course again.
Good experience ruined by Pro Shop

NEW
Enjoyed a great front 9 at Saluda Valley before it all went to pot at the turn. Left after 9 even though I paid for 18. Course is in good shape and seems like maintenance does a great job. However, there are so many great golf courses ruined by poor management. When I was turning the Pro Shop either intentionally sent off a threesome ahead of me (single at 5pm), or watched them cut in front of me at the turn without saying a word to them about it.
I played a brisk front 9 with a twosome in front of me playing at a good pace, then I get to 9 fairway and see a group on 10 tee box that was nowhere in front of me lining up to go. The pro shop attendant was watching with his head out the back window and could see everything that was going on he was just too busy standing there talking to the cart boy to do his job.
I’m extremely disappointed because I loved the golf course and would be willing to drive 30 minutes to play it often and even thought about membership options, but I won’t if the pro shop operates like that.
Staff Kelvin Barnet
Kelvin Barnet is rude if you have him there to turn people away he his doing a good job.Was going to join but after the 6x of going and the guy (Kelvin Barnet) was rude I changed my mind. All though he not there every time I been and the other guy was nice.Course is fun to play but Kelvin hurts the course.Going to give a 5 star for the course not the staff.
My favorite local course
This has always been one my favorite local course to play. Staff is always friendly and I've never seen the course in bad shape. Just beware the greens are fast but I'm a fan of fast greens.
Always in good shape
Always good greens and fairways. Great friendly staff. Fun layout and a good place to have a get together with friends for a few hours to have a great time.
Great Golf at Saluda Valley CC
I played Saluda Valley CC today with my friend Ken. We had a great day at the golf course. Every thing was first rate; the service was friendly, the food was excellent, and the golf course was in fantastic condition. The fairways have been over-seeded and the fairways and greens were in great condition. Even the weather was great; 70 degrees and bright sunshine on the 15th of December. All in all I would recommend this course highly at this time.
Great Course to play
Pro shop personnel very helpful and friendly. Found course in great condition, but had a few wet spots on back 9. Found Par 3's fun to play and the Par 5's were very fair.
Please get the slow people out of the way!!!
The course was in decent shape for the time of the year. They were mowing seemingly around every hole we played. But we got used to it. The only problem was there was an extremely slow foursome playing from the tips that couldnt hit drives beyond 50 to 75 yards, second thru tenth shots only going 10 to 15 yards and then trying to read the greens like they were on the PGA. They refused to let anyone play through and created a log jam behind them. We finally just skipped a hole and finished 18 and they were still on 14.
Other than that, I was well pleased with the course!
Incredible value!
This course is always in excellent shape, and to play it for under $15 is unbeatable. Be prepared for the possibility of a slower round due to its popularity. There is nothing fancy here, but the layout has good character and the course is always well kept.
Let's Do It Again
Super nice staff! Excellent value for the money! Great course, very well mantained...They've got a new golf regular here in me.. Overall, I'd recommend playing it.. It may just become your favorite golf course around..
An OK Course For A Weekend Round
Course was okay. Not very lady friendly. Fairways were in okay condition. Greens had been aerated recently and were horrible.
