This course is fun to play
We arrived right after a heavy rain shower and the course did not have any standing water. Course drains very well. The ninth fairway on the Gold course does have a lot of driving range balls along the left side due to a low fence. Just drive to the right side of fairway and you'll be good. We played the Gold and Blue courses. Enjoyable.
Don't hit off the fairway
If your not a great golfer like me and don't hit the fairway everytime be prepared to lose some balls on this course. All the fairways have trees on both sides where they don't mow and the grass and weeds are from ankle height to knee height. Around the trees they don't trim with a weedeater at all with lots of Oregon Grape growing around the trees. If you hit in three you most likely have about a 10% chance of finding your ball with the 5 minute rule. When you buy a bucket of balls for the range, they are not range balls all name brands of the balls the grounds keepers find from the players who all lost them off this poorly maintained course. Never playing here again.
A fun course
Great well maintained course. Fun for the experience golfer and great for the average player. Hitting a straight ball a must. The views of mt rainier a bonus and spectacular.
Tight but fun
Undulating greens. Lots of dog legs. Not many bunkers. But if you put it in the rough you'll have a heck of a time.
Tight Challenging Course
The course was very nice. Fairways and greens in good shape. Putts would bounce from time to time due to prior aeration but for most part rolled true. All holes surrounded by large trees and fairways are a little tight. Several dog legs left and right. On many holes you are better off leaving driver in the bag. Sand was not fluffy but wasn't horrible. Driving range looked like a goat ranch and had to hit off mats. All in all a good experience. If ur a walker, don't plan on any water coolers on course! There was a cart girl but she never came around. Don't get in the trees and brutal rough and you will shoot a good score. If you spray the ball off the tee, you better pack a lunch and bring several balls!
Good course. Surprised it wasn't busy. Nobody pushing us.
We had a great time. Wife, son and I played. Nobody pushing us. Lots of trees and tight fairways. We lost a fair amount of balls.
Was disappointed no discount for going through golf now.
Nice layout, Maintained Greens and Fairways
The course has a nice (3) 9 hole layout. Staff are friendly and helpful. Course is not for the golfer that hit 100 and above even though i seen those golfers there. I am a 17 handicap and playing partners are 10 and12, and alot of the holes from back were long enough and challenging for them. My group will definately play it again.
Wonderful golfing experiance
EVERYTHING about golfing yesterday at Lipoma Firs was close to perfection! I would not have included the word close if my putting was better!! I Will be booking my round there again and soon. Thank you Golf Now...
Dry Course for Winter Golf
Lipoma Firs is the driest course I have seen this fall. The greens are in great shape and you can putt well (assuming you are a good putter). The greens still have some speed to them with lots of little undulations and slope to make it interesting. They are playing white tees for men during the fall/winter months so it plays a little shorter, but with the ball not carrying as far is still a fair test of golf for everyone. Fun course to play!
Great value
$17 for 18 holes. The greens were in GREAT shape. I don't think I've played greens this nice on a public course this early in the year. The fairways and tee boxes were in very good shape as well.
