This is one of the best public courses I have ever played.
This is a very nice course, especially for the cost. The greens would rival any course that you would pay at least triple to play. On some holes, the view of Mt. Rainier is gorgeous. All three of the courses can be challenging. Hit it straight!
Great Deal
Great deal got me out yesterday afternoon.
The front desk staff and marshall were fabulous to deal with.
Course is well kept,
Course is a little tight with lots of trees.
Great time though!
Good Course
Coming from Las Vegas, I was not used to such tall trees. Once I stopped hitting them everything was fine.
Players need to respect the course
My husband and I played this course for the first time on Sunday. I like that there are three different nine hole sections that can be configured to create a variety of courses.
The course is well maintained by staff, however, those who play the course could certainly take a lesson in replacing divots on the fairways and pitch marks on the greens.
Golf pro has no personality
Went into the pro shop and was never even greeted. I was the only person in there. Asked for a large bucket of balls and told him it was my first time there. He said there is the buckets, the balls are over there. Go out that door. Not even a thank you. He acted like I was bothering him. Must be the cheap green fees that bring in the few people that were there. It will be my first and last time visiting this establishment.
OUTSTANDING VALUE!
Very pleasant surprise. Well maintained, great greens, very friendly marshals and clubhouse. Nice restaurant. Worth the trip, I will go back
3/9 hole courses- pick your club carefully-walkable/clean
3 high 90's golfers. Tricky but great greens. Fun+
Moderate risk/ reward
I found a hot deal on Golfnow.com that I simply could not pass up, but I wasn't sure what to expect since the price was almost too good to be true. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to find three full length 9 hole courses that you could play in three different combinations for three different 18 hole experiences. I opted for the Green/blue course and found that the course conditions were excellent. The pro shop is well stocked, the staff was accommodating and the course itself provided moderate risk reward which I felt was just enough to provide the right mix of challenge and fun.
Pretty little course with a woodsy feel
Staff was nice, pointed us to the range and after some warm ups and putting saw the starter who sent us out on the nine with the most space in front of us. We were new to the course so took a little longer finding our aiming points as the fairways are a little on the narrow side and if you miss then, you're probably chipping out back to the fairway. The fairways were in average shape but the greens were great, decent speed and rolled sure.
Nice mix of right and left doglegs.
We had one twosome behind us and nobody ahead of us for at least three holes on a Friday with a 1:30 tee time. Very pleasant.
Better service
My foursome rented carts, and when we got to the last five holes, one of the carts was going dead. We called the club house, and they said they would get us another cart to us.
They never showed up, and we had one cart push the other cart to finish the round.
Poor service when you had paid for the cart.
Very challenging fairways.
View of Mt Rainier in the background. The greens were in excellent shape.
Tight fairways, Great value
This course has a great layout. The 3 nines allow you to move through the course very quickly. Better off laying up on most holes though
Very nice course for being fairly inexpensive.
Positives-
-Great course. Well kept. All the obstacles you should see on a nice course from open to narrow fairways, sand traps around most of the greens, water areas along some fairways and greens.
-Grill offers a variety of menu options, I didnt eat due to the time but smelled fantastic.
-Post local tournaments on tack board outside the proshop.
-Proshop has decent selection of items for purchase at a reasonable price such as the clothing.
Negatives -
A little bit rock in sand traps. Nothing big to really damage but enough to annoy.
I like the idea that they offer online tee time reservations .
Would definitely return on my next trip up to the Tacoma area.
This course keeps you honest.
Played an early morning round the course was in great shape they mowing so fairways and greens were playing true. The course was not too wet but did have some plug spots. With trees lining every fairway as a golfer this course keeps you honest. You can play out of the trees but only recovery shots. I enjoyed playing this course and look to play it again in the future.
Overall this is a good course
Although this is a good course and can always get on even without a tee time you will have a problem with a lot of slow play.
Great course to come to without a tee time
I come here often with my dad and we always can get out without a tee time. Very fast play and the lay out of the course is great.
Good course.
Good course, but you have to watch out for embedded rocks in and around the fairway. Playing the tight fairways on this course forces me to play with discipline.
Good facility with 3 nines.
Would recommend this course for it's appearance and playability.
Have played it several times and very enjoyable.
This occurrence however, an extremely rude man working in the pro shop at check in.
We play this course because it's close to home. But be patient since it's notorious for slow pace of play.
It never fails. This place is always backed up and you're always waiting for the group ahead. Groups of 5 are very common. The course itself is well maintained but there's always plenty of divots on the greens - not like there isn't ample time to fix them - people just choose not to. If you have all day to play, then this course will be just fine.
