LCGC
Conditions were fairly poor. Wanted to play from the tips and half the time couldn't find the tee box to do so. Great set up and if tooken care of could be the best
Average course
Fairway condition below average, many patches.
Green condition is good.
I enjoyed the round.
Target golf
You definitely need to keep the ball on the fairways. If not, you're in the brush. Beautiful views of the mountains. Very large and undulating greens.
I love playing this course!! it's wild west!!
Beautiful setting and scenic view from all over the place.
Challenging and difficult course, I only lost 2 balls
High speed green with a lot of slopes
wasted my money
This is a beautiful golf course but the pace of play is terrible! My wife and I booked a tee time but quit one hour and fifteen minutes later at the end of the third hole, having to wait too long amounts to frustration and therefore you kind of lose interest in the game.
The problem is that people hit the golf course not knowing anything about golf nor they ever visited the driving range and nowadays golf course staff just dumps anybody on the course and forger about them!!! Nobody checking weather certain rules are being followed. Wasted my time and money there!!!
a bit sad...
i remember when this place opened.. big fanfare- two course, big name architects, big dollars both in money invested and green fees to pay. i never ventured out there then, never saw it in it's glory.
today i went out... one course gone to seed, the practice facility hasnt seen water since the last rain.
i liked the layout.. the greens are in great shape, sadly the fairways and bunkers are terrible... the pathways up the tee boxes have been ripped out (there's only dirt reminders of what might have been there... my guess raliway ties).
i can assume thet're getting ready to rip the place up, or let it go back to the desert like they have the other course.
the facility is running on skeleton staff, both greenskeepers and clubhouse. it's all just a bit sad. but that said, the golf is challenge.. the greens are still green, fast and true.. so they have not completely rolled up the carpet... and for $50, i'd still go play.
Play it before it's gone..
The scenery and types of shots the course offers are worth it even with the less than stellar course condition... If you don't pay full price. Shame they let it go before it turns private.
Used to be great
I played here 4 years ago and the course was in great shape and the facilities were top notch. Now it seems like this place is about to go under. The layout is great but they do not water at all. A great drive is rewarded by hitting off dirt in the fairway. Scorecards are just copies of the original cards. Dont waste time or money!!!!!
Get Ready for a Challenge!
For experienced golfers only! Another great gem from made from Pete Dye and Fred Couples. This course is highly challenging. Key part of this course is to keep your ball in the fairway. The rough and intermediate cut is no fun place to play from! This course is hidden in the Simi Valley mountains, so you will see extreme up and down elevations. No walkers here, all cart riders! There are a lot of challenges from carrying lakes, rivers, hills, and uphill greens. If you come during a hot day, bring a lot of water as dehydration can catch you here. The greens are very fast and have severe angles to play. The carts here have ice chests so you can fill up a good amount of drinks! No GPS carts, so look for the yardage sings or bring a rangefinder, as cell signal is very limited here. Only come here if you want a challenge and your A game is ready! Not for the faint of heart of golfers!
Save your money and time
The fairways are mostly barren. There are no drinking fountains,or bathrooms on the course. The score cards on the carts are photo copies of the original cards. I can't help but think that this course is one step away from being closed down. Also the starters at this course have an attitude of superiority. It's a joke. Don't waste your time or money.
Check Wind Conditions
It was very windy. The wind effected every shot and most putts. The greens appeared in satisfactory condition. Everything else was less than satifactory. Maybe, due to winter type conditions of little to no grass on fairways and tee boxes. This is a challenging course without the wind. The wind increased the difficulty factor by 2 or 3 times on just about every shot.
Goat Track Course
Course is in terrible condition looks like it will be shut down soon don't waste your money.
Has potential, but needs investment
Well, I chose this course based on recent reviews from GolfNow. I hope this one gets through to anyone considering playing this course. First off, the "Sky Course" implies there are two courses at this place. Well, there were two courses once? The other one is closed down. And honestly, they should just shut the whole place down. The pro shop has square footage but is completely void of anything except a pile of Pinnacle balls. The range is of the grass tee variety, but is dreadfully not taken care of. The starter explained to me that due to the courses terrain that it was "patchy." Patchy was an understatement. There was probably an acre of green grass on the entire course. Which all of this said is sad because this place could be so much better. I would avoid this course till someone invests into it and restores it to it's previous glory. If I were Dye or Couples, I would have my name removed immediately. I actually want my money back.
Slowly Wearing Out
This course is a little rougher every year I go back, but I still like it. The greens are fast and smooth but the tees, bunkers and fairways are struggling. The pro shop is a vast expanse with nothing in it. Staff are great and club house is well maintained.
cow pasture
Sad example of a golf course. No definition between dirt and fairways, with cart restrictions to stay away from additional dirt. Had to work to find grass for your ball. TOTAL RIPOFF
Can't even post your score since they are not connected to the SCGA or USGA!
Staff blamed the condition on the fall off after the Tiger Woods effect.
Lost Canyons - Sky Course
Played on a morning that had us delayed an hour due to frost. Unfortunate, but caused a total of around 7 hours at the course which was a little long. Course was in average conditions at best, greens were nice still. But course could use some upkeep. Not worth the money spent. Golf carts are terrible. Could use GPS for people who haven't played there in the carts as it has lots of blind shots. At least a cheat sheet. Have played the course before with better conditions and it was much more fun.
This course blew me away
literally blew me away. The wind was so bad I believe I hit a 100 yard drive off the number 1 hole. No fault of the course itself so it's not a knock against Lost Canyons. This is not the time of year to be writing a review for ANY golf course, because it's cold and windy and that makes everything harder and longer. The Sky course is extremely challenging on a beautiful day let alone one like Wednesday. The holes have narrow fairways, and lots of gullies. It will challenge any level of golfer to bring his or her A game for sure. Thanks for the lost balls Lost Canyons... LOL
The course surface
The course surface, fairways, greens were hard. I came back to the course thinking it may be in better shape. I like the course lay out. But maybe it is better in the spring and summer. ..
Lost Caynon
A fun challenging course that will give you a taste of real golf.
The rain has helped the course condition tremendously and taken away those dead spots on the fairways. Back 9 greens are on a bit of a bad shape but nothing that would prevent me from playing.
All 18 greens are extremly fast and if not careful you will rack up points there!
