The Gold Course is one of three 18-hole courses offered at the Wigwam Resort, which was named one of Golf Magazine's "Silver Medal Resorts." Golf Digest cited the Gold Course as one of the best public courses in the state. Mature trees are present on all of the courses, as well as winding creeks that create water hazards, which come into play on several holes. There are also strategically placed sand bunkers present on the course. The rolling landscape of the course causes elevation changes that can affect shots. The Wigwam Resort facility also has a putting green and chipping area.

Good course, slow play

Overall the course was in good shape and looked the layout. Good amenities. Play was very slow, 30 min. behind and forced sharing of carts which I get but most courses let a single ride alone which helps pace of play so just a preference when I select a course. Plus you might get paired with a major chain smoker and very slooow cart driver, or worse.

Great course for the money

Course was in good shape, paid 25$ to play the gold course. Greens are a little unforgiving but course is well kept and no waiting or pressure from behind all day.

In good condition

In good condition, but greens were pretty dry. Staff was kinda short and rude. But rate or play was great and the other golfers were very friendly

Midwestern feel -challenging

Great course, long rough and lots of water atypical of most AZ golf. Def not desert golf but still tons of fun

Good Course - Unfriendly Marshal

Played the Gold course... not too difficult, pretty fun. Some of the hole routing is odd/confusing, especially at the end. Lowlight was the marshal ("Sheriff Joe" he called himself) chastising me for having the golf cart NEXT to the path instead of ON the path on a Par 3. I had pulled aside so my playing partners could go around me as there was no other way around. I wasn't on a playing surface or anywhere close to a green or tee box. Seriously, you have nothing better to do than police stupid stuff like that? In my opinion, marshals should police PACE OF PLAY (which was an issue that day, so Sheriff Joe obviously wasn't policing that) and EGREGIOUS cart violations. No other course I play does this ticky-tacky marshal stuff. I won't be playing here again -- there are plenty of other places who will take my money.

Perfect start to Christmas Golf

Played WIGWAM GOLD today and it was fantastic! I rarely leave reviews but felt the need to share how great our experience was. The course was in great shape, staff super friendly, good value at $50 with a 1pm start.

We finished in just under four hours, only waited for a couple minutes on the par 3’s. It was a great layout and long - but forgiving. Was in the bunkers quite a bit and they are in great shape also.

We just arrived from Calgary and -40° so anything would have been good however this was great. Played well also which always helps.

High school tournament

Course in good shape. A little crazy out there with HS kids playing a golf tournament on the blue and gold courses. So a little slow in pace. Pin placements were difficult, but overall enjoyable round.

As good as I remember.

We have not played here in over 5 years, and when I heard that Tom Lehman had done a redesign, I was worried that the course would have lost some of the great Robert Trent Jones Sr's, signature characteristics. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was still very interesting and a great test of golf. The course was in great condition, and we finished in just under 4 1/2 hrs, despite following a high school tournament. We'll be back.

Great golf course

Great value for what you get, golf course plays fair if you stay in the fairway, the rough is thick, healthy and can be very challenging if you are in it, greens are a little slower then I like but they’re in good shape and roll ok.

Forget how good it is...

I live in N Phoenix, so I forget sometimes just how great Wigwam is! Staff were great, course was overseeded wall to wall, greens were a bit firm, but very fast and true.
Saw the beverage cart 5 or 6 times.

Pace was what I expected for a saturday midday tee-time. Finished in just over 4 hours 30 minutes.

Overall amazing condition, love having the entire property overseeded, must cost a fortune...but the price was very reasonable at $95+

Excellent Old Course

I remember seeing ads for this course 50 years ago, when I was a boy growing up in northern Ontario, Canada. It was a joy to finally play it today. I recommend it highly to anyone visiting the Phoenix area.
