Wigwam Resort - Gold Course
About
The Gold Course is one of three 18-hole courses offered at the Wigwam Resort, which was named one of Golf Magazine's "Silver Medal Resorts." Golf Digest cited the Gold Course as one of the best public courses in the state. Mature trees are present on all of the courses, as well as winding creeks that create water hazards, which come into play on several holes. There are also strategically placed sand bunkers present on the course. The rolling landscape of the course causes elevation changes that can affect shots. The Wigwam Resort facility also has a putting green and chipping area.

As good as I remember.
We have not played here in over 5 years, and when I heard that Tom Lehman had done a redesign, I was worried that the course would have lost some of the great Robert Trent Jones Sr's, signature characteristics. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was still very interesting and a great test of golf. The course was in great condition, and we finished in just under 4 1/2 hrs, despite following a high school tournament. We'll be back.
Great golf course
Great value for what you get, golf course plays fair if you stay in the fairway, the rough is thick, healthy and can be very challenging if you are in it, greens are a little slower then I like but they’re in good shape and roll ok.
Forget how good it is...
I live in N Phoenix, so I forget sometimes just how great Wigwam is! Staff were great, course was overseeded wall to wall, greens were a bit firm, but very fast and true.
Saw the beverage cart 5 or 6 times.
Pace was what I expected for a saturday midday tee-time. Finished in just over 4 hours 30 minutes.
Overall amazing condition, love having the entire property overseeded, must cost a fortune...but the price was very reasonable at $95+
Excellent Old Course
I remember seeing ads for this course 50 years ago, when I was a boy growing up in northern Ontario, Canada. It was a joy to finally play it today. I recommend it highly to anyone visiting the Phoenix area.
Awesome Experience
The course is in great condition. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Amenities are awesome with a sandwich station at hole 8. We will definitely play here again!
Wigwam Gold Course
Long, challenging layout in excellent condition with tricky undulating greens. A true test of your game with trees and water coming into play on a number of holes. Everything about the course exudes quality and worth travelling to play.
First hole in one
The Gold course was in good shape after over seeding for the winter and was still cart path only. Greens were in good shape but slow, which I expected that close to over seeding. How could I complain about the round with a hole in one on the 11th hole. Layout is fair and also challenging if playing from the rough like I tend to do.
Nice condition. Flat somewhat boring and forgettable. I hate to give a somewhat negative review for a course I such great shape.
A week after playing the only things I remember was I hit a ball in the water on #2 or 3. Course is flat. Plays long. A lot of much better courses in the valley.
As expected.
Been here before and will be here again as this is a great course. Recent overseeding made the course perfect. A challenging course but not impossible to play. GPS on cart is a plus. Friendly staff.
Great course and clubhouse
From check in to the food at the clubhouse. Excellent. Time.
