I got lucky with a pitching wedge and landed about 15' from the pin. The pin placement this round was tough with holes tight to the front edges. Photo submitted by knichola on 08/19/2013

Nice track but....
I have played Grand Cypress a couple of times. Most recently, I played the North/South combo and thought both nines were really good, fair layouts. As this is the “high” season, however, all resort courses feel entitled to inflate their rates even though most courses, including Grand Cypress, are not in great shape because of the recent dry conditions and heavy play. While the greens were fast, they were pretty hard and bumpy from inconsiderate golfers not repairing/tamping down their ball “dents”. Fairways were thin and spotty in places with a ton of unrepaired divots. I ran out of sand well before the home hole trying to repair divots around my ball in the fairways. Pace of play, however, was very good with a 4:15 round. Overall, I don’t think GC is worth the premium fee they now require, especially for locals like me. Come October, however, I will be back when the price is more reasonable and the course is in better shape.
Challenging Greens
This is the first time playing Grand Cypress. We normally try to play one higher end course during our one week stay. This was our fourth round for the week and we have become accustom to 5 hour rounds. We enjoyed the course, player friendly for all levels. A lot of water but the fairways are generous. I loved the multi tiered greens, very challenging and unlike anything we would normally see. Very enjoyable round and was able to save considerably by booking through Golf Now. The only negative was that the bunkers weren’t raked from previous play. I would give them a pass for that on this day as there was a tournament in front of us.
Very good conditions, great pace
Always love to come back. This is a must in Orlando. It was a very cold day, so it was not very easy to play. But tee boxes, fairways and bunkers were in very good condition. Greens rather fast and true. Not many players out there, so the pace was around 3 ¾ hours for a twosome. We had to wait a bit on several holes on the second nine, but it did not really bother. Staff not seen a lot, but the starter and pro shop very friendly.
Great course
Great course, but my only issue is when you make the turn we went into the clubhouse to get some food and it seemed as though they discourage it by telling us that they have no food options inside that is quick. They tell you to go back on the course as the cart girl has sandwich’s. They said to let the Marshall know and he will call the cart. It took 4 holes before she showed up and I was starving the whole time. They need a better way to deal with golfers who are making the turn!
They might want to consider an option where the golfer can call from the 8th hole to place an order for food like a burger or something that would be ready when they finish the 9th hole.
Some challenging holes
The North course was more open than the South course, but still had some challenging holes. The South course had some really challenging elevated greens with water and sand traps at the sides. The mounding sometimes made it difficult to see where the ball went.
Nice layout
This is a good course, definitely worth playing, but like most courses in central Florida in the dry season, thin fairways and greens.
Good job M. Nicklaus !
A very beautiful and difficult course.. I.hope to Have the chance to play this course again during a less Windy day.
A lot of bunkers with very small greens.
A good experience!
Great golf course
Great golf course and a good service, the best golf course I have played
:)
Fabulous Track!
One of the best conditioned courses I've ever played. Beautifully designed holes that will keep you intrigued.Very Friendly and professional staff.
Nice course but the pace of place was slow, greens were chewed up a bit.
When we got on the second tee the marshal said there were 4 foursomes ahead of us and one group was 2 holes behind (!).So clearly need to move that group a hole up or they should offer them a rain cheque to come back another day. Slow golf is not fun. Alot of pitch marks not repaired as well.
Always a treat...
We do play every course each year during the holiday,
tee box, fairway, green are what you want to play everyday. hust experience it and you will go back for sure.
Greens perfect and elevated
This was a challenging course living up to it’s slope rating
North South
Played on a Sunday. Played from blue tees. Course was in good condition. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Greens were in good condition average speed. Tee boxes could use some work. flat back and forth course average difficulty
Great course
Had a great day as I was paired up with 3 other guys on a buddies trip. I made some new friends playing this challenging course. No complaints here. Well conditioned for the amount of traffic that this course gets daily. The practice facilities are excellent and the clubhouse has free wifi. I'll be back!
Great course
Great course, conditions, layout. Challenging holes mixed with easier. Pace “slowish”, but not horrible.
Great shape
Course was in excellent shape, both fairways and greens, and unfortunately, bunkers. Great layout. Will play again for sure.
