The Cascade at Gold Mountain Golf Course
About
There are two championship courses available at Gold Mountain Golf Club, the Cascade and the Olympic. Taking advantage of the dramatic Pacific Northwest surroundings, the courses offer stunning views from nearly every hole. If the dramatic elevation changes of the Olympic Course are overly intimidating, the more walkable Cascade Course will be ideal. It may be less challenging but that doesn't mean it's easy. The openness of the golf course is misleading, if you want to score low you will actually need strategic, well placed shots on each hole. There are some tricky holes but overall it's a course that will appeal to players of all skill levels. Ample driving areas frame the tree-lined fairways and the player-friendly greens are open and inviting. Gold Mountain's Cascade Course is often the top choice for tournament play.

Cascade Hole #4 Photo submitted by sleddy22 on 09/18/2013
This course is a great value for the money
Beautiful, easy to walk or ride with some very nice greens!
price. is steep and so are the courses
I played during tje huskies invitational so the hole placements were tucked away behind any hazard possible and the first few greens had retaining water on them but the rest was great very exciting course if u enjoy a challenge
Slow play
very slow play 5 hrs plus tee time 2:50 teed off 3:15 done 7:45 Dark course overbooked golf now to late of a tee time for this time of year.
Hard course
Cascade was nice and Olympic was challenging . Olympic course has lots of hills and blind shots. For the first player it was difficult to play decent round. I'm a mid- low handicapper, I shot 22 over.
Consistently a fun outing
The Olympic is very challenging given the greens and pin placements. The course is typically well-maintained and a joy to play. Previous comments about the condition of the gas carts are true - probably the only weakness in the facility's presentation. We are locals and know many of the marshals - have not experienced poor treatment before. The food is okay - would rather run to the Clubhouse at McCormick Woods after a round - overall the price per round is reasonable, especially after twilight hours.
Always fun to play.
Staff was great from the pro shop to the restaurant to the snack shop to the Marshall. Couse was in good condition - a little brown here and there but good for late August. Greens were excellent.
Long time. Waiting fir each hole
Not the best. Long wait at each hole. Longest round I've played this year
Love Gold Mt! Played 8/14/2014@ 2:30p, Lost SW HELP!
This course is always in great condition and the staff is very friendly.
On this day in August I lost one of the most important golf clubs in my bag that I have had nearly forever. It's a old Top Flite Tour sand wedge with the end part of the number 56 and the degree symbol ground away a little, the back was also sanded a little..
I took a lot of time tweaking this club just for my swing..If anyone can help me find this club, I would be forever grateful..
A little disappointed
Gold mountain is a bit more expensive but I had always heard such good things that I thought I'd try it out. I was disappointed. The fairways were not well maintained and they did not really call for T-times unless you were on the other course so it ended up being more of a free for all.
discouraged by one of my favorite places
Usually one of my favorite courses to play. But on this day it was 80+ degrees and didnt see the beverage girl until we were walking up the 18th fairway. And she never stopped to ask if we needed anything. Also for being so warm for weeks the course was wet. They must have ran the sprinklers all night the night before. My golf party drives 40 miles to play here and did not have a good experience this time.
Worse the second time
Thought maybe our cart would have brakes this time. I was very wrong! We had to find ways to wedge the cart against trees and hills so the cart wouldn't roll away.
The marshals hound you at every hole to keep on pace. We were 15 mins a head of pace and still were harassed at every turn.
Was 85+ degrees that day and saw the drink cart once on the back 9.
The staff was smug and felt like they were just there for a paycheck.
The ONLY saving grace for this course is the views, which aren't really worth the cost.
I golfed two back to back days to experience both of their courses and I can tell you with all certainty I will never go back!
Words of advice for the manager:
Hire a chef and not rely totally on line cooks.
Fire all your old sour marshals and hire people who enjoy the game.
FIX THE BRAKES ON YOUR CARTS!!!!!
Great Experience
The course was fantastic. The fairways and greens are in great shape. The Cascade course is very walkable except for a couple holes with very steep climbs up to the hole. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cost was very reasonable from GolfNow.
Overall great experience for myself and playing partners.
Definitely choose this course
The course is in very good shape with a few bare spots. The greens are a definite challenge with tough pin placements. That is golf. Overall the course and views are excellent. Now..the golf carts are another matter. They are old, gas because of the terrain, but the covers on the back need work. I put a towel between the cover and the cart to stop the banging. You can walk BUT you better be in shape. We did not see a beverage cart although they were very busy. I played Cascade and am going back to play Olympic next.
Great bang for the buck
Gold Mountain has one of the best facilities on the West Coast. Two fantastic golf courses side by side. Both courses are fair but challenging giving you a lot of uphill and down hill shots. Greens were in great shape as usual. Their golf carts as some of the fastest we have used anywhere. Their practice facility is top notch!
good course... not spectacular
tees=B, fairways=C, sand=C, rough=C, greens=B
hilly course with some very nice elevation changes...
this course has a lot of surrounding terrain that makes the greens difficult to read and judge... it would take several rounds to begin to read them correctly.
Gold Mountain
Gold Mtn is a fantastic place to play a round of golf and the scenery is beautiful.
unbelievable value
Just a short trip for us Canadians, great value and course conditions. Can be challenging for intermediate player. Much more forgiving than Olympic course but also more fun. Can't play a course like this in B.C. for this value. Love the Gold Mountain courses and how we are treated by course personnel.
Gold Mountain
Very nice facility and if I am ever in the vicinity again, I would play it in a heartbeat. Both courses were in very good condition and the staff was friendly and helpful.
The course was in great shape for February and the greens were a delight; rolling true and 95% blemish free.
The best part was the excellent courtesy and helpful attitude of everyone on staff from the pro shop to the restaurant.
