Beautiful Course...but

Incredibly beautiful course in the Wicklow mountains and some really nice holes to stand and look at the view.
However, the reviews about the greens being in terrible shape were right. If you want to play be prepared for very slow greens with long grass. I’m a beginner golfer so didn’t mind that much but compared to other courses I have played the quality was extremely bad. But that is the only thing bad about the course. Everything else is top notch!

Disregard for Golfers

Travelled from a substantial distance away with a friend after having booked the tee time 5 days in advance. Tee time was for the middle of the day, and the golf club had definitely known that they would be closed that morning.

Arrived after a 1 hour journey to be met by an unprofessional individual at the clubhouse who just told us we couldn’t play and that they were closed. No notice given prior to arrival that it was closed, and poor manners shown when dealing with the matter face to face. I would expect the same to be reflected around all other aspects of the golf club. Disappointing.

Greens like fairways

Lovely lads in the clubhouse and some great holes and views. The greens were an absolute disgrace however. Would turn me off going back!

Good course

It’s a nice course. Not very challenging apart from a few difficult holes. Plenty of holes to make scores on but very enjoyable for 15 handicappers and higher. Greens were very slow but it’s been tough conditions lately so probably aren’t a true reflection. Good value at 30quid a round. Would play again

So much potential

Firstly, u better be well fit to climb up and down very large and steep hills. The course is very hilly.
It does have a great layout and some holes are really picturesque. The only problem was the greens were absolutely junk, a long time of no proper maintenance shows. I didn’t even bother putting after 2 holes. Bunkers were like building sites too.
Tee boxes were average and fairways a little thick.

Best views in Wicklow

Starts off with two broad easy holes, then progresses into some really nice chAllenges for a 18 handicap golfer. There are a couple of holes around water pond on the back nine which are great fun to play. The course is 'parkland' type with some elevation. It is well maintained and playable for March.
Fabulous views abound on the upper holes.
Was quiet on the morning I went. Clubhouse is a large setup, probably needs a lick of paint on the outside however there are really good facilities for changing.
