Good layout and challenging course for all levels of play, depending on which tees you decide to play from.
First off we got a great deal on price, no problems with acceptance of our online reservations and no additional charges at the course.
The staff was very friendly and and accomodating. Acceptance of our online voucher was of the same demeaner as if we had paid them top dollar to golf the course.
The course was going through some renevations and fall maitenance, which can be expected for this time of the year, but did not restrict our play nor affect our enjoyment of the course.
We arrived about 45 minutes before our scheduled tee time and were allowed to go out early.
I highly reccommend the course and the value of booking golf through Golf Now.
CDH
despite the conditions
Greens slow and of need of water. The course overall needed to be mowed. Despite this it is a course which makes you hit different shots and is enjoyable to play.
This course is fun and well kept
The course is fun and keeps you coming back. Although during the winter months the 18 hole price is a little on the high side. The carts are a little dated with no GPS or ball/club cleaner or even a cooler but it doesnt take too much away from the experience. I play this course very often and i recommend it all the time. Hope this helps
Room for improvement
I've lived on this course since 1998. When I purchased my home, the course was pretty decent and remained that way for several years. Changes in corporate ownerships brought seemed to lead to deteriorating conditions. It seemed owners were much more concerned in short-term profit versus long-term investment. The course dramatically declined after he crash in 2008. The most recent owner, Fore Golf, seems to be making an attempt at improving course conditions, but has a long way to go. If you're looking to sharpen your skill at playing off tight lies, then this course is for you. They should issue each player a small square of astro turf to simulate a decent lie in the fairway.
Course is Improving
This course is much better than it was in the past. New management is Bringing the condition of course back up to where it should be. There are still areas of the course that need a lot of work , and work appears to be in progress. I will return in a few months and check on the progress.
A good course in Yuma
I thought this course was very good, fairways are burned in a few places, but nothing to really complain about for the price.
Very freindly people. I replayed the course same day again for half price. cant beat it!!
Nice views
You can see they are trying to maintain it. Workers were out trimming trees, driving around etc. fairways were tough to hit as the ground was pretty hard and was tough to leave a divot in the ground. Greens were in decent shape, tee boxes were hit and miss. Some tee boxes it was difficult to put the tee in the ground. Staff was friendly.
Not a lot of golf options in Yuma. This was one of the highest rated, but it didn't live up to expectations.
My wife and I played this course for the 1st time with a couple of local Yuma residents. They indicated that the course had been neglected and was just starting to come back. It still has a way to go, expecially the greens and bunkers. There was also a lot of causal water, some of it right in the middle of the fairway. Even though this was an irritant maybe it was probabaly also a good sign that they're trying to bring the course back. Overall, the course is fair at best; however, the staff and the people they paired us with were very friendly and made up for the course conditions.
Better of the 2 18 hole courses in this area
We have played here most of the winter using Golf Now to get the best prices. There are some bare spots, but this is a very dry area. It is obvious that they are making improvements to the course as they can.1/6/13
Nice course
This is a nice challenging course. The fairways could use a little more grass. The greens are smooth and roll true.
A well laid out course with lots of challenges, but not overwhelming.
This is a well laid out course with challenges, but isn't overwhelming. We will play it again.
Typical Desert Area course.
Pace of play was very slow. We were a little late teeing off due to the lack of carts being returned. Course marshal would help.
Mesa del sol, Yuma
Unfortunately the day we played this unkept course, it was extremely windy, making playing conditions even more difficult. According to staff, new owners have recently taken over and are trying very hard to get the course back in better conditon. Major work is needed.
This course needs to get it's act together
Our T-Time was booked for 11:30am and the golf course was more than an hour behind. They said it would probably be 1pm before we even teed off. Because we were driving back to Phoenix, we opted to cancel the t-time and head home. The pictures on the web looked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the actual course.
Needs plenty of Work!
This course needs plenty of work. All tee boxes, many areas of the fairways should be flagged off as ground under repair and actually some work done on these areas. Greens are rough, sand traps should be called gravel pits. Sorry to say that this course needs some real TLC. This course has potenial to be one of the best in the area if they would spend some money and get the course back into playing shape.
This course needs groundskeeping attention, especially greens.
Arrived to find large number of golfers awaiting tee off without carts being available, caused backup that persisted the entire round. Greens very poor condition.
Very slow it was over 3 hours on the front and over 2 on the back
Very slow it was over 3 hours to play the front and over 2 on the back that is just to long
Friendly staff, greens and fairways were in good condition.
We had a 1:15PM t-time. We arrived at about 12:30PM and checked in at the club house. There were no carts available even at that time. We were told that we would get a cart when one was returned. The 1:07 t-time was also waiting for 3 carts as they were a foursome, with a 5th rider. At 1:15, we were all still waiting for carts. As soon as one came in, it was given to the 1:07 t-time. Imagine our surprise when a 3 some was given the next two carts and given permission to start. Not willing to cause a confrontation, we waited for yet two more carts to arrive before we could t-off. It was about 1/2 hour later than our t-time. We had to wait on almost every hole until the back 9. We did finish but it was almost dark. I would advise anyone to keep in mind that the average round on this course appears to be about 5 hours.
