alister review
Fun course for everyone ,challenging enough for what ever type of golf. beginners' to pro
haggin oaks
courses are in good shape for this time of year it's being very dry
Great day to play golf
Thanks to GolfNow I got a real good price including a cart and the weather was awesome. I have played here many time before and found the course to be in really good shape considering the drought that has caused bad conditions on other golf courses I've played lately. The only down side here is I found the greens to be a bit to bumpy, still, I highly reccomend playing this course.
I'm Back.
This was my first round in about 4.5 years, I found the fairways long, the rough really rough, and the greens VERY lumpy, even with the lumpy greens I held to 1- 2 putt each green.
Alister MacKenzie fun to play
A relative flat course with strategically placed bunkers. Many wide fairways, but off-line shots wound up in the trees necessitating punch outs. Most of the bunkers had a decent amount of sand which has been a rarity lately in the Sacramento area. Considering the drought and water restrictions, the course for the most part was in relatively good condition. The greens had been punched a week earlier making putting somewhat a guessing game particularly when it came to speed. The course was fun to play and I look forward to playing it again. It is a good test for intermediate golfers. The only negative of the round was the 25 gusting to 30 MPH winds.
Boring
Really easy boring course. not much to it. Shot a really good score for me but as i said, very easy and not much to it. Standard muni layout.
First time playing the Course
Played the course for the first time and enjoyed playing a new track. I live just a few minutes from the Haggin Oaks facility and practice there often, so it was finally time to check out the course with the help from golf now and a little price break. After playing the arcade creek coursed I wasn't expecting too much out of their "big" course but I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in great condition and very fair. All the staff I encountered could not be nicer. Thanks Haggin Oaks I will be back.

The Alister Mackenzie course was in very good shape and nicely groomed. The pace of play was slow due to individuals playing two balls per shot (to no fault of course staff)... Weather was great and the greens were true... I'll definitely be returning!
great course
very busy course so it played slow but in great shape and a great couse
this course is well maintained
I've played alot of courses lately and this course is in really good shape, the ruff is a little bit long but the greens are in great shape. I'd recommend this course to anyone who likes long strait courses.
Haggin Oaks Shotguns
The greens were in very good shape. The bunkers were also very playable. The fairways were fairly soft making it pretty easy to get the ball air born. I shot a 40 on the front and a 38 on the back. I think this shotgun was just a way for Haggin oaks to get players on the course. It didn't feel like a real golf tournament where something was at stake.
day on the course
had a good day played at 7:30 am shotgun with a great breakfast included with the round of golf.
A Very Good Muni Course
The Alister MacKenzie course at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex was a very enjoyable round. There are plenty of challenges on the course but not over the top. The greens were fast but receptive.
We played in very hot weather (95-100 degrees) but there is plenty of water on the course to drink. And, at one hole there was a member of the staff with a ice chest full of ice cold, wet towels to cool your head. This felt absolutely GREAT. We each had great tee shots after the cool down.
There are two courses at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, a restaurant, golf instruction, and a super store for buying everything golf.
All the staff we encountered were very friendly and added to our enjoyment.
Move up a tee
Usually play Burgundy or Cream. Was paired with a couple who had only played for a few months. The starter recommended we play from the front green tees. What a difference!! I made five pars and two birdies and the couple had a great time even with their length challenges! We kept up with 4some ahead and was able to keep ball in play. They did lose some in the creeks but were excited to play
Alister MacKenzie
Fun course and player friendly with several par 3's and par 5's.
quality of green
Course is conveniently located so it's perfect course for after work round . However greens need to be improved. They are always bumpy and slow - it really takes enjoyment out playing the course.
best condition ever..... by far
Morton golf and mike woods should be commended on the fantastic job they are doing since taking over maintenance of the course. greens are some of the best in sacramento. fairways are great. tee boxes are way better. some redone bunkers which are first class. this course is up and coming!
First time playing this course
Course was in great condition even with the water shortage. Perhaps use reclaimed water.. Lots of room for the not-so-skilled. Hot afternoon with very few players on the course.
Fun time at the old design golf course
We had a ball playing the old Alister Mackenzie course we will definitely come back. Very good staff.
