West Fork Golf & Country Club

Thank Goodness I had my Christmas shopping done and was able to slip out to play Westfork on X-mas eve. It had been a couple of years since I played it but the course was in good shape for all the rain we have had. Only a couple of greens that had a few bare spots, but other than that very good course conditions for December. Very friendly staff, and carts are in excellent condition. The starter paired me up with a couple of the regulars from the course. We had a good time. I would recommend it.

Nice course, always in good condition, staff very friendly. However, pace of play is a problem. It’s worth your time to try this course, just don’t expect to finish under 4 plus hours.

The layout is good, but there are a lot of weeds growing on the greens. Fairways are ok. Green side and fairway bunkers are well maintained. Counter guy was excellent.
Although the course is a little rough, we would play it again. ALSO, people tell us there was flooding down here, so that may be part of the issues.

Everything seems to be a little subpar. There are nicer course for the same price, or in many case less, a few miles away. If they could just maintain it a little better and create a culture of etiquette this would be a great place to play.

This is a very nice course. The layout is generous. Teeboxes snd greens are in pretty good condition. Would recommend.

Really enjoyed this place, staff was friendly, starter was great, plenty of water on the course. Got paired with two solid players, and had a great time navigating this layout...I highly recommend this on your to play list, I will be back! Was the course in perfect condition? No...but very good for the heat we’ve had lately. I grew my game on city courses, so having grass is “plush” to me, lol. For the golf now deals, worth your time!

The historically good greens had poa annua, not every green, and it wasn’t overwhelming, but it was common. The most discouraging thing was the pace of play, I was visiting the area, so a single, playing during the mid afternoon Saturday during the hottest part of the day. I wasn’t in a hurry and a couple groups allowed me to play through until I came upon a twosome. After being on the tee box at the same time as them twice, I asked to play through, which irritated them, eventually after commenting on several confusing non golf topics, they allowed me to play through on a par three. I quickly played through. After hitting my approach shot on the very next hole, the same twosome skipped that hole to get in front of me again, and slowed down to ensure we were on the same tee boxes again. There wasn’t anyone ahead of them. I said nothing and settled in for a longer than necessary round. I am disappointed in the course management for not regulating pace of play.

They have really been putting in the time and effort to take care of the course, and it is really paying off. The rough has thickened up, great fairways, and greens overall were very good. A couple of the greens still have a few dead spots around the edges. Bunkers looked to have fresh sand in them. For the money, this course is great!

Great layout. Greens.are good spread and roll true. Fairways have pleanthy of grass and ball sits up. Tee boxes are in above average condition. A good challenge that does not beat you up. Bunkers art not consistent and some need work. Overall a good value for your money.

Somewhat challenging course with a lot of ditches/water/swamp area. Greens are a bit rough - course appeared a little worse for wear, probably still recovering from flooding last year. Will play again! Good value for money.

This was a fun course to play. Lots of carries off the tee. Only issue with the course was the weed problem. It appears the course is addressing the issue. It is not going to get fixed over night. If they get the weed situation under control this would be a five start course and and must play destination. Weeds did not effect contact with the ball. Weeds on the greens did not seem to effect the roll of the ball to much. Don't let the reviews of the weed issue stop you from playing this course.. Staff was more than friendly. Great people.
