Fantastic shape for this time of year!!!!
Overall, the experience at Texas Star was impeccable as usual! This was my second time playing it (although it's the first time in over 6 years!). The fairways were in perfect condition, and the bunkers had some good sand in them as well. Another big plus about the course is that they are still using bent grass greens! The greens were a little hairy (haven't been mowed yet) when we played, but overall they still rolled really true. All in all, this course has a little bit of everything that a golfer will enjoy! Just be sure to be playing the right tees! The Texas Tees are a real challenge!

Nice practice areas. Bent grass greens were excellent. Course condition was great for this time of year in Texas. Will book here often.
Great golf
This is one of the best courses in the area for the money. Well maintain, challenging with different elevations, great greens, well place bunkers and water. Course makes you think all the time, but is fair. You can spray the ball and still have shots. I would recommend to any level of play, just play the right tees.
Great Course
Great staff, course layout and in great condition. One of the best values for the money in the metroplex. It's on my short list of courses.
Godd experience
Course condition, staff service, and pace, everything is great. The price a little higher for me.
THIS TRACK IS VISUALLY OUTSTANDING.
THE SETTING IS TREE LINED BLOCKING OUT MOST OTHER HOLES.
THE ONLY HICK UP WAS ALL THE UNREPAIRED BALL MARKS ON THE GREENS. OTHERWISE, OUTSTANDING.
One of the best in D/FW
Great layout, good conditions and one of my favorites
Course is the best public track in the area.
Course in Great shape, Pace of play was excellent, greens are superior. Played early in the morning.
This course is always in great condition.
I have always enjoyed paying Texas Star, one of my favorites. Some of the fairways were being aerated but it was still a great experience.
Solid outing
Played a little slow but I understand why this course stays so busy. It is in great condition from start to finish and the bent grass greens are in perfect condition. Fun layout, great location, staff and amenities... A nice change of pace from the run of the mill DFW courses.
Course was in great condition but VERY slow play.
I have always like the Texas Star golf course, but I had NOT played it in years. Well, when GolfNow had a great offer, I decided to play it...Well the course was in great shape, the staff was very friendly, but the pace of play was terribly slow. It took over 2 hours to play 6 holes. It was then, that I threw in the towel and called it a day....I will say I was warned that they were crowded and that it "might" be a little slow...but at the rate we were playing...it would have over a 6 hr round....
I will play the course again...but probably in the fall when its not as crowded...
Awesome practice facility, deadly rough.
This was one of the best courses I have been to in the DFW area. Fairways and greens were perfect, but the rough was something I have never seen before. if u hit a slightly bad shot u prob lost your ball so make sure u take a couple extra. They had plenty of ice cold water stations around the course to keep us hydrated when it was 99+ out side.
Top Public Play Course in Metroplex
Course is in pristine condition. I would put this course up against any public course in Texas for that matter there probably isn't a hand full of private courses in Texas that are in better condition. Loved the layout, played the blue tees 6500 very challenging yards. I would recommend you go play it you wont be disappointed.
Best daily fee course in the DFW area
Very well maintained, challenging layout with good elevation changes. Greens hard to hold due to downsloping away from tees on many holes. Excellent practice facility at no additional cost. Food in clubhouse beats most private clubs. Friendly clubhouse and course staff.
Wow! Texas Star is one of my new favorites!!
Was looking for a course to play I'd never played before in DFW, so decided on Texas Star because of recent reviews from other golfnow members about how incredible shape this course was in. Thank you! This course was GREAT shape! A lot of fun but tough. Would highly recommend anyone to give it a shot!
Texas Star Golf Club Course is the Star
Played the course following a rain event the night before that dropped approximately 1" on the course. Although it was cart path only the course was only modrately wet. This Spring the DFW area has been having rains across the region about once every week and the heat has just started to get going unlike most Springs/Summers.
The course was GREAT!!! The course in itself is usually a good test of golf, but Mother Nature has bee good to it this year and it is in awesome shape. Defined fairways and rough. Since it rained the previous evening some of the sand bunkers were inundated with water, but not washed out. However, I don't think the sand bunkers are up to par with the rest of the course conditions just from looks. The greens were in very good shape and rolled fairly quick and true.
With the good watering from Mother Nature the course is green and the surrounding foliage frames every hole. A very good expreince for all golfers, especially right now. Got a great rate on golfnow.com for some after noon golf.
Excellent course both in condition and value. Great layout, one of he best in the area.
The course is fair, but provides enough challenge to be interesting. The variety of holes is very good. Fairways are generous enough to hit driver on almost all. The conditioning was excellent with good greens and fairways. It is one of the best courses in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and definitely one of the best bargains. Pace of play was much better than average.
Great condition
Went out at 2:40. Got lucky. A tournament was wrapping up so I didn't see another soul for the 1st 9 holes. Staff was great and conditions were too.
Need more deals At Tx Star
Great track super shape fast greens. Using golf now. Com is the way to go. Cost included tax green fees cart and range balls.
Great Municipal
This is the only municipal course i have been to in the country that is in this great of shape. I have played at Countyr Clubs that are not this nice. From the moment you enter the property you get that feel, you are greeted by staff your bags are removed from your car and the staff is friendly. The course is in great shape fairways soft, lush and green. The greens are pristine, smooth and fast. Amenities are great restrooms on the coursw, water and the cart girls we saw at least nine times on 18 holes. This place is firsr class golf and worth every penny. I have to drive almost 45 miles to play it but i do so without even thinking about it.
