Average
Played here twice now, once late last year and it was really boggy (understandable to a degree) so thought I’d give it another try.
Drainage is really poor, especially fairways.
Looked last year like they were doing works due to heaps of soil and sand in places but it hasn’t moved. Not great.
Avoid in winter
Fine layout but fairways awful in winter. Standing water and bog galore. Some greens muddy. Difficult winter all round for golf courses but £30 is not a fair or appropriate price tag for a round here in those conditions.
Not worth £7 let like £27
Course I as in appallingly bad condition, fairways can only be described as a mix of mud and water, green’s if you can call them that actually moved as you walked on them, no care was taken with course layout at all with tee markers being old cut off pieces of decking some with nails still sticking out of them, a bye way with loads of walkers runs directly through the course and adjacent some holes so your more concentrated on not hitting Doris and her faithfully friend than hitting the ball. Not that it mattered where your shot went anyway as should you strike it well your next 10min will be spent searching a bog for your ball.
I’ve never paid so much money to play such a poor course.
Save your money amd avoid this place at all costs.
Great value for money
Played many times and a really good challenging course with some very long par 3's. Only critique is there area public pathways through the course and many people are oblivious to golf taking place. Doesn't detract from the course conditions and value for money it's well worth it
Lovely course
Enjoyed playing the course teed off at 6.36am and once again and is the same as many other courses a simple perspex box outside the shop with some score cards would be a great idea for course that allow you to tee off before the shop is open. The course is well set out some very good holes and enjoyed playing it. Now the only bad point I found the course is so wet and muddy on a lot of fairways and tee boxes don't know if there has been a lot of rain there but it is bad. On a good note the greens are in great condition and will definitely play again here
Enjoyable
Straight forward course with some nice par 3’s and challenging par 4’s. Greens are good but some seem to be running a bit quicker than others. Especially on the back nine.
Also heads up for errant range balls on the first hole!!!
Early morning round
Played Friday morning in beautiful weather but the course looked really good all the tee boxes looked good and the greens where brilliant really enjoyed my round
Disappointed
Overall condition of the course was very good but the bunkers were a huge let down . 95% of the bunkers had hardly any sand in them and the sand that was in there was compacted and like hitting off a road . Greens are in great condition but speeds are very inconsistent for speed as some were cut fine and fast but many were fluffy and slow . Could be a great course if just the above 2 things were maintained correctly .
Excellent Course - Highly Recommend
Our first visit to Regent Park. Great course to play. Lots of interesting holes for golfers of all abilities. Course was in great condition despite the hot dry spell. Would recommend anyone to play and we will definitely play there again.
Excellent
So much work has been done transforming this course and it’s well worth the money now. Excellent course, good club house and well kept.
Excellent!
Fabulous underrated course in excellent condition ,tricky first nine big open back 9-love it!
Excellent value for money
Great clubhouse with decking for a sunny pint afterwards
What more could you ask for on a sat afternoon!!
Course not in great condition
Course was Biggy and dug up in some places, seems there’s a lot of work going on to improve it but it’s not there yet. Greens were terrible, full of grooves from the scarifier or something, no point trying to read them as puts will go anywhere. Lovely new clubhouse and the food was decent.
Slow play, great course
Rained heavily night before, not moaning about that as I don't mind heavy conditions. Booked to tee off 11.16, actual 11.36 as the seniors comp was being held, 6 x 4 three and four balls. Slow doesn't begin to describe. Anyway, got to the 13th eventually (3 hours), our 2 ball saw an opportunity to skip holes and jump on the 16th to end this pain, good drives taken care off, the 'old boy' leader walks off the adjacent par 3 and berates "you can't do that, we're in a competition". We politely moved on at pace. Before they'd even meandered to the tee box we we're playing and smashing our 2nd shots towards the green. That was the last we saw of the Old Boys.
Now I know its a competition and respect that, however the same curtesy should be reciprocated and the etiquette regards slow play adhered to. Our jumping ahead had no impact on the competition, sadly we missed out on 3 cracking holes.
Class for time of year
Good nick considering all the rain. Couple of forward tees but nothing too major, always loved this course 👍
Wet but playable.
Played the 18 holes as a fourball and although the course was wet due to the amount of rain over recent days it was perfectly playable. A number of holes were under maintenance but no work was happening when we played. Clubhouse was open and is excellent. Was very busy when we completed our round.
Great day course a little wet in places this course is going places awesome modern club house with oarg being extended I have a good feeling for thus course ...
