No Aerification Alert
I normally like this course, but we were unaware that it had aerification recently done. If we were aware we would have waited a week or two before playing that course. I remember that last year courses had aerification alerts when when booking through Golfnow.
Good deal for the price on Golf Now specials
Fairways need work but water shortage has a lot to do with the conditions. The greens are in good shape and challenging. Good value for seniors on a budget like me.
Very basic muni.
Muni's like this are necessary for golf, to introduce new players who might feel intimidated at a better course. T-shirts and blue jeans are the dress code. Every hole requires diligence as balls come flying in from everywhere and some of the players have not learned yet how to yell FORE. That said, the course was in really sad shape. Fairways were bare hardpan in many cases. Greens and tee boxes were green, but that's about all that can be said of them. We wanted to walk, but the course only has one push cart to rent and it was already in use. Can't help but wonder if the resident pro thought he would end up here when he got his A card.
The fighter jets are AWESOME!
I know many find the extreme noise of the fighter jets to be a distraction and/or nuisance when they are practicing takeoffs and landings on the runway directly adjacent to the front nine. I find them to be exhilarating and a great source of patriotic based pride. Feeling the power literally vibrate my body, as happened on the sixth hole, is a tremendous sensation.
Overall - 2 - solid short course, good for beginners, kids, and fun rounds in general.
Pace - 2 - a SIXSOME on the front was inexcusable both by the players and the nonexistent marshal, typically under four hours to play.
Course conditions - 2 - winter conditions, bumpy spotty fairways, smooth but slow greens.
Staff - 3 - friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about the large group when notified, the group did reduce to a fivesome (one dude left and I'm trying to see the bright side) and picked up the pace on the back.
Value - 4 - always a good value, deal or no deal.
Food - 3 - all the norm in both price and menu.
Facilities - 2 - older well maintained county buildings, grass range but no real feedback as the net is merely a couple dozen yards away.
I recommend this well priced, very fun and family friendly course.
My Aching Back!
Staff and ladies were very friendly and the facility clean and well appointed. The course is SO bumpy that it would behoove you to walk. Came away from 9 holes with fatigue & lower back pain from :"riding" the moguls! Greens very good condition and fairways are adequate considering the drought conditions. Hit lots of shots off the dirt! Not the fault of the course however! Love the begging friendly squirrels.
Good Value for the money.
Can't beat 18 holes with a cart for about $15-20. Usually a good pace if you play in the afternoon. I can get 18 done in about 3 1/2 hours.
Trees and dirt
For a course with a low slope rating this can present a challenging round. Greens are small and fairways narrow and restricted by old trees, If you miss the fairway your ball will probably land on hard-packed dirt and roll for a while leaving you with a tough lie for your next shot. Marine Hornets come to visit the nearby airport frequently and they can be a real problem.
The greens are in good shape, the staff is friendly and the food in the clubhouse restaurant is top notch and reasonably priced.
This is my "home course" as it's less than 10 minutes from my home so I play here several times a month. Great value and always a challenge,
Great Value for the Money
Airways is a great local course for the weekend golfer. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rates are a great value. Flights taking off and landing (especially the Air National Guard jets) can be a little intimidating mid swing but it makes for an entertaining round.
Testy little course
First time playing Airways. Fairways and greens is the mantra for this course. If you're not in the fairway you are most likely sitting on dirt. Greens were in pretty good shape. Need more ball washers. The price was right and I definitely will return. Best value for the money.
Great for Beginner/Intermediate players
Shorter holes than most courses which play well for less skilled players.
Great for Beginners
First time playing this course. My wife and I are still learning the game and this course was great to learn on.
this course is rough...
If you hit a bad drive, its very difficult to get a good second shot because you are hitting off dirt almost every shot.
Greens
Greens need to be better kept. If you can't hit in the fairway expect to roll a mile on the dirt and have a second shot from dirt or gravel
Great deal
Course was in good shape. Fast round. A great deal for 2 with a cart. I will do it again.
always a great time
Love airways, our foursome play 2 to 3 times a week, I sill play hook, slice and go find it ,but love it.But 3 miles from the house you can't beat it....
Not a pristine course but great for beginners
Booked the Tee time on GolfNow and got a great deal for a day with the family. It's a great place to play for my wife and daughter. Not to many hazards that will lose balls. I like taffy the ladies Tees are moved up a lot. Even though we were late for our Tee time they got us out behind a couple of groups but the pace was great. Will definitely return.

Shot my lowest round here very nice flat greens. Good green speed
Enjoyable Bargain
Playing before noon on a Sunday with cart for less than $50 for two is a steal. This was a 'Hot Deal' on Golf Now and I got it two hours before tee off, I was thrilled. Airways is a bit short and they always have a lot of bare spots towards the edges of the fairways, but the greens were in decent shape and were really rolling true and for a short course, there are still plenty of challenges to keep you interested. Staff in the café are really friendly, prices fair and decent quality. The only complaint I would have is boy does this course need some Marshalls. The low cost tends to bring in a lot of beginners and seniors and sadly someone needs to ride them a little to pick up the pace. As a whole this is a low cost course that is easy enough for beginners...but still offers challenges for better golfers.
Good Greens
Dont bother with the "range" its just a backstop 30 yards deep. Greens were very nice , good shapr not fast not slow. Fairway is ok but if its not right down the middle you are hitting off dirt. Not bad now but once it drys out , tough to play off. We played two rounds and walked . $22.50 for a whole day worth of green fees. Nice place to play for an affordable price. Shot a 95 first round and a 84 the next.
