Potential
Way better than going to east Potomac. One thing I love about both courses is they do a good job on the greens. This course has a ton of potential if they fixed up some of the fairways and cart path. These don’t bother me as long as the greens roll true, and they did.
Sadness
I just hope NLT starts to actually rehab this course because it has so much potential.
National Links Trust is falling short !!!!!
I only played this course so my 8 year old son could learn about the African American history of this place. The layout is great unfortunately no one cares about the conditions. To be in the nations capital and see how neglected this place is sad. I have nothing good to say. They spent money to improve the range. I’ts time to spend money on the course. It’s never going to change and it’s sad.
Moving Toward Excellence
Have played at Langston a lot in the past 5 years and up until yesterday have been disappointed every single time. What a change with the green and the grounds. Good job so far NLT
Sub par course conditions
The course is close proximity to DC. Course conditions are below average and pace of play was slow. Greens were tiny but rolled well. Challenging course overall but fair.
Urban Golf!
Busy environment: busses, metros, traffic, football practice, etc., etc.
Fairways in OK shape, greens in great shape considering location and amount of play!
Bad
For the price, an awful golfing experience. There are much better places in the area for the money
Poor shape
On several holes you find yourself alongside the driving range hoping not to get hit and hoping to find your ball among dozens of range balls. If ball is hit in fairway you might find it ... not in fairway, well good luck!!
Not worth it
Showed up for 11:40 tee time. At 11:40 the 11:20 group was still on the first box. Starter wasn’t concerned but made sure to tell me to hurry up and get out there. Front nine was in terrible shape. Back was better
Solid Option
The course was a solid option in DC. The tee boxes were ridiculously firm. Otherwise, it was in pretty good shape for a city course in the middle of summer.
tee time was at 1:20...didn't start until 1:50 due to not enough carts. course was in terrible shape, tee box ground was so hard on the front 9 you couldn't even put a tee in the ground. the holes are so close together you frequently will have others hit into your "fairway." was my first time playing and will never go back. would not recommend to a friend. 50 dollars to play 18 here is a joke, where is that money going?
