Pheasant Run Resort is one of the Chicago area's most respected resorts. It offers an 18-hole golf course that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. The course is short at just over 6,300 yards from the back tees, but it still provides a fair amount of challenges. The fairways are tight and there are water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The bunkering is minimal but strategically placed to keep you on your toes. The front of the greens are invitingly wide-open and beginners will also appreciate that they are mostly flat and easy to score on. The golf course starts out with a tricky par 5 that doglegs right past the 200-yard marker and there is a water hazard that crosses the fairway. The back nine is slightly longer and also more challenging.

Overall good condition.
Overall good condition, a little soggy in spots and some puddles in a few traps.
Nice change from the usual courses played.
Surprised they had aerated the greens in August. Also, greens very slow, had not be cut. Course itself was in good condition.
Great Service
We only were able to play Four holes due to rain and lightning. The clubhouse guy was extremely helpful and friendly. We did get a raincheck and we will be going back to play there again.
Country club golf at a resort
Pace of play was a bit slow but not too slow. Staff on course and in club house were super friendly and courteous. Clubhouse is part of the resort with a couple of restaurant choices depending on time you are golfing. Course was well maintained. No bare spots on those fairways. Rough was a bit long but seeing how it is a dry August that was probably more for drought and brown grass issues than making the course play harder. Everything else was lush; the greens were showing a bit more break than they actually were. There were even a couple drivable par 4's. A great day of golf overall and will certainly return for more.
Nice course
Nice course. Well maintained. I would book it for a golf now rate, but I would not pay normal course standard rates.
GREAT PLACE TO PLAY!
FIRST TIME THIS YEAR I REALLY ENJOYED A ROUND OF GOLF. GREAT STAFF. GREAT COURSE. PACE OF PLAY WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST ALL YEAR. WORTH THE TRIP. I AM SURELY PLAYING THERE AGAIN SOON.
Great conditioned course.
Challenging course off the fairway. Played early in the morning and the pace of play was great.
A course that makes you think
Course is in great shape, and I'm surprised that this was my first time playing it. It's one of the few courses in the area where you can still find a weekend greens fee deal under $35
We were paired with a couple of ex-college golfers so we played the back tees with them (approx. 6400 yds). Playing a 233 yard par 3 wasn't doing my game any favors, but didn't throw us off for the most part. A lot of tricky holes where you need to put the driver back in the bag so I liked how the course challenged me to hit quite a few different clubs off the tee.
Course was busy as I'm sure a lot of people booked this deal ($31 and played around 3pm), but it won't deter me from playing again to get such a great value.
good fun course...
not having played this course in a number of years, it was in good shape considering the last week and half we have not had much rain. Greens were a touch long, but expected with the lack of rain.
overall... pace of play was great and conditions good.
Nice course at a good price
Nice course, mature trees, conditioning was pretty good with excellent greens that putted very true, but were tough to hold. Many shorter holes with several very long par 3's make a for a few challenging holes. Only downside to the course is that there are several greens & tee boxes which are too close to each other.
Great!
Great rate on a Saturday twilight. Pace was fine and staff was friendly. Course was in great condition! Fairly short course comparatively but strategically place bunkers still make it challenging.
Pheasant Run- Chicago area
This course is nice. It plays fairly tight. We played over the July 4th weekend, so it was busy. My only real dissatisfaction was that it became very backed up, with 3 groups waiting at the tees on several holes. Think it would be good during a less busy time. The resort is very nice as well with some great deals online.
+Course in great shape
Course is in great shape. Greens were firm and quick.
Good value
Used Deal Caddie $20 voucher for Sunday afternoon; Course was well maintained; Pace was decent for a Sunday afternoon; Enjoyed the challenges arising from various water layouts; Very solid for price paid.
Greens are well maintained; rough was high, Water comes into play on many holes.Back nine has thee very lon par 4's.
Good course for the money! Need to drive the ball well and putt well to score.
this course was nice
the course was in good shape. the pace of play was good everyone was very nice. over all a very nice golf course to play
Good resort course for the money!
Nice resort course, well worth the money paid on GolfNow. Parking definately an issue, but the staff is very courteous and will shuttle you to the main hotel parking lot. Greens were a bit inconsistent, some fast some slow! Bunkers in good shape! Paid $28, well worth it, but wouldn't pay too much more than that!
fairways and greens well taken care of
fairways marked well with yardage markers greens were spot on.great course for the money.plan on goin back
