Pheasant Run Resort is one of the Chicago area's most respected resorts. It offers an 18-hole golf course that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. The course is short at just over 6,300 yards from the back tees, but it still provides a fair amount of challenges. The fairways are tight and there are water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The bunkering is minimal but strategically placed to keep you on your toes. The front of the greens are invitingly wide-open and beginners will also appreciate that they are mostly flat and easy to score on. The golf course starts out with a tricky par 5 that doglegs right past the 200-yard marker and there is a water hazard that crosses the fairway. The back nine is slightly longer and also more challenging.

Expected more
Worth playing once. Expected more from a resort course. Greens were fast and true. Fairways were narrow and lined with trees making the course challenging. Rough was just long enough that it was easy to lose your ball, even when playing with a high visibility ball. Pace of play was HORRIBLE. About the 14th hole they finally sent out a marshall to help with locating the balls of the groups ahead of us to speed things along which did help. If you can get a deal its worth playing once.
Pheasant Run
Great course for the money. Fairways and greens in good shape. Staff very helpful and friendly.
the course had moderate features
4 water sprinklers running with large hose wheels behind it in middle of Fair Way during Golfing late morning/early afternoon! Grass in the rough high and thick ball easily lost! Pro Shop Manager Jamie and Golf Cart employee Bob, RUDE! I will not recommend Pheasant Run Golf Course to anyone!!!
Course is in very good shape
Short course, but it's well worth 25 dollars to play
Well worth the money
Only time i have been to the course was for corvette shows. Loved my golf experience and the weather was perfect.
great conditions
Course is narrow but the course is in fantastic condition. The best greens I've seen all year! soft and lush.
Nice course
Cost $22.00 thru golfnow. Monday 7/7. The greens were great. Fast and true. I did not like the par 3's. Most are over 200 yds. Course in great shape.
Nice and somewhat easier course
Enjoyed a relaxing round of golf...not too busy and course was in great shape even with all the recent rain. Would recommend for beginners- moderate level golfers.
Tough rough
Course is in great shape! The rough is about 1/2 inch too long hard to find ball at times. The water stations were all dry so bring your own.
Nice course with my wife
Played with another golfers an excellent weather Sunday afternoon. The course looks not easy but somewhat challenging, esp. par 3 holes with long... Anyhow, I had a fun with my wife and enjoyed the golf.
Great course for all golfers
The course at Pheasant Run is in excellent condition and the greens are pristine. A great value.

Weekends.
Good
Lots of trees and shaggy rough. A few holes after 9 get pretty tight
Worth the money
Payed $45 for 18 with a cart on a Sunday morning, prime time. Fairly inexpensive. I like to play new courses and this one was worth going back to. Fairways were well kept and pretty. Greens were in decent shape. Not the most difficult course but still had a few elements of challenge. Good intermediate course. Wish there was a place for drinks after 9 but it was at 6 or something. Also a couple more portable johns would be helpful. But all in all, the staff was super friendly, the Bloody Mary the cart girl made at 9AM was delicious and the course was in good shape. Deffinitely be back for future rounds!!
Log jam
9am tee time and didn't get done til 3. Had to wait on every hole. Overbooked, log jam.
Pheasant run resort course
The resort course at pheasant run was in good condition. A few of the greens had a few steep lines running through them. I do not know if this was from the rough winter we had or from the irrating of the greens. 10 tee box was being worked on but looked to be opening soon with long fresh grass just waiting to be cut. Overall the pace of play was spot on at 4 hours which was 30 minutes ahead of what they would like the pace of play at. I would recommend playing especially if you are staying or can find a good deal. I played the course for $22 when the going rate was $49. Thanks golf now
A Good Time Was Had by ALL!
Had the pleasure of playing Pheasant Run and had not been there in probably 15-years. Still very challenging with lots of "dog-legs" and water. Greens very fair and roughs "just-that"- rough. Enjoyed the day and will try to make it back by the end of summer.
Casual Golf
On a weekend day, be prepared for some slow play. Also, you will find some very casual, non serious golfers too, as this is a resort, so the course appeals to people on vacation. Greens had just been aerated so, hard to judge. For the price, and I got a good deal on GolfNow, it was a beautiful day to spend 5 hours.
Need to enforce pace of play
I'm a scratch golfer, I play fast but I don't expect others to play at my pace... But it is ridiculous when the pace of play is over 5 hours on a Monday... Two groups of old women who wouldn't let people play through held up the entire course, at the turn I informed the starter, and his response was "go around them and go back to those holes later... Talk about course etiquette, I'm not going to pass 8 groups and drive around as I please... I would like to see them enforce the pace of play and ask slow players to let groups play through or make them leave after a warning...
